The Role We are looking for a Tax Manager to take ownership for the day-to-day execution of the company's tax function in the Canary Islands, ensuring accurate, timely, and fully compliant handling of all tax obligations under Spanish national law, EU regulations, and the Canary Islands Special Economic and Fiscal Regime (REF). This is an operational and hands-on role focused on compliance, reporting, documentation, and internal coordination. Key Responsibilities • Lead the preparation, review, and timely filing of all corporate tax returns, including Corporate Income Tax, IGIC, withholding taxes, and informative declarations., • Manage compliance and optimization within the Canary Islands Special Tax Regime., • Maintain the full tax calendar and ensure on-time submission of every obligation., • Produce monthly and quarterly internal tax reports, including effective tax rate, deferred taxes, and provisions., • Support month-end and year-end closings and provide tax schedules and reconciliations to auditors., • Execute and document operational compliance., • Manage the full IGIC cycle, including reconciliations, corrections, and refund requests., • Maintain complete, organized, and audit-ready tax documentation and records., • Handle routine correspondence and information requests from AEAT and the Canary Islands Tax Agency, escalating substantive matters to the CLO., • Coordinate day-to-day with accounting, AP/AR, HR, and procurement teams on tax-related operational matters. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field. Master's degree in Taxation strongly preferred., • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant tax experience, including at least 2-3 years in a managerial role., • Prior experience in a Big Four firm, reputable tax advisory practice, or in-house corporate tax function is a plus, • Strong practical knowledge of Spanish corporate and indirect tax, with demonstrated experience handling IGIC and, ideally, the Canary Islands Special Tax Regime., • Proficiency with ERP software as Netsuite and strong Excel skills., • Fluent Spanish and professional proficiency in English., • Structured, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented approach. xcskxlj, • Clear communication skills for internal reporting and interaction with tax authorities.
