ph3Environmental Permitting and Compliance Specialist /h3 pLocation: Madrid, Spain /p pWe are hiring an Environmental Permitting and Compliance Specialist to support environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and due diligence efforts for infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on Spain and Latin America permitting frameworks. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liSupport environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and due diligence for infrastructure, energy, water, industrial, and commercial projects with a focus on Spain and Latin America frameworks. /li liCollaborate with project teams, clients, local consultants, and regulatory stakeholders to define permitting strategies, identify environmental and technical study requirements, and manage multi‑jurisdictional approval processes from early‑stage development through construction and closeout. /li liTranslate permitting risks, timelines, and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable insights to support decision‑making. /li liReview project requirements, environmental regulations, permit conditions, and agency guidance to identify obligations for inclusion in proposals, design, schedules, budgets, and execution plans. /li liAssess permitting status and maturity, identify blockers, and define critical‑path timelines to achieve Ready‑to‑Build status. /li liMap full permitting chain (EIA/DIA, urban planning, grid permits, etc.) including requirements related to environmental assessment, public consultation, biodiversity, water resources, waste management, air quality, cultural resources, construction compliance, and regulatory approvals. /li liLead permitting strategy definition and execution for projects in Spain, Latin America, UK and EMEA. /li liReview Spanish‑language permits, regulatory correspondence, studies, compliance plans, and technical documents; summarize key requirements and communicate implications to English‑speaking teams. /li liAdvise project teams and clients on Spain permitting processes and translate regulatory requirements into actionable project guidance. /li liParticipate in site visits and project planning to identify permitting risks and constraints. /li liCoordinate with local consultants, authorities, and project teams to manage permitting processes and approvals; develop and review deliverables including environmental management plans, permit matrices, compliance tracking tools. /li liDevelop and deliver internal training on permitting strategy, regulatory processes, and compliance requirements, focused on Spain, Latin America, and UK projects. /li liProvide input to proposals and designs with focus on permitting risk and project feasibility. /li liMaintain understanding of Spain, UK, and EU permitting frameworks. /li /ul h3Minimum Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in environmental studies, environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, natural resources, planning, or a related discipline. /li liFluency in English and Spanish, including ability to review documents, participate in meetings, and communicate requirements. /li liStrong hands‑on experience with Spain permitting frameworks and approval processes (EIA/DIA, autonomous community procedures, municipal licensing). /li liAbility to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search). /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liExperience with Latin America and/or UK permitting frameworks and infrastructure projects. /li liRelevant industry certifications related to environmental permitting, compliance, environmental management systems, or health and safety. /li li~8+ years of specific experience in environmental permitting, permitting strategy, or infrastructure advisory for complex infrastructure and energy projects. /li liUnderstanding of environmental compliance during construction, including permit conditions and environmental management measures. /li liExperience delivering training or guidance on permitting strategy, regulatory processes, and compliance requirements. /li liCreative problem‑solving, risk management, and collaborative decision‑making in cross‑cultural or multi‑jurisdictional environments. /li liStrong understanding of grid connection and electrical infrastructure permitting processes and their interaction with environmental and planning approvals. /li liExperience in technical due diligence, assessing permitting status, risks, constraints, and evaluating feasibility from an investment perspective. /li liCapability to distinguish permitting blockers from manageable risks and provide defensible recommendations. /li /ul h3Benefits /h3 ul liHealth, life, accident and disability insurance, paid time off, financial programs, and performance‑based bonus program (subject to geographic region and employment status). /li /ul h3Equal Employment Opportunity /h3 pBVH, Inc., its subsidiaries and its affiliated companies comply with all Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) affirmative action laws and regulations.
