What is it like to be a Photovoltaic Quality Assurance Engineer at DHV Technology? As a Photovoltaic Quality Assurance Engineer at DHV Technology, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our photovoltaic products for space applications. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with Solar Array Wings, photovoltaic assemblies, solar panels, CICs, solar cells, and related space hardware, contributing to high-end international projects in the aerospace sector. You will be involved in inspection, optoelectrical testing, non-conformance management, and technical analysis of photovoltaic systems used in satellites. This is a hands-on and highly technical role, ideal for someone with a strong background in photovoltaic systems, solar cell diagnostics, and quality assurance for high-reliability hardware. Responsibilities You will be involved in quality assurance activities across commercial and development projects, including the following responsibilities: • Inspection of Solar Array Wings, photovoltaic assemblies, solar panels, strings, CICs, solar cells, and related subassemblies during manufacturing, integration, and testing phases., • Inspection of incoming parts, materials, components, and photovoltaic devices according to applicable requirements and internal procedures., • Execution and documentation of optoelectrical tests on photovoltaic assemblies and solar array products., • Performance of electrical diagnostics based on illuminated or dark I-V curves, electroluminescence inspection, and other solar cell characterization techniques., • Detection, analysis, and reporting of electrical and photovoltaic performance deviations, and assembly-level anomalies., • Review and verification of manufacturing documentation, inspection records, quality evidence, and test reports., • Documentation and reporting of inspection results, deviations, non-conformities, and technical findings., • Generation and follow-up of Non-Conformance Reports., • Coordination and participation in Non-Conformance Review Boards., • Support in the definition and implementation of corrective and preventive actions., • Collaboration with engineering, production, project management, and quality teams to ensure compliance with customer and project requirements., • Support during project reviews and delivery milestones and related quality gates. Education and Requirements Candidates should meet the following requirements: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field., • Experience in the space sector or other high-reliability industries is highly valued., • Experience with photovoltaic assemblies, solar cells, solar panels strongly desirable., • Hands-on experience with hardware inspection, testing, manufacturing processes, or failure analysis is desirable., • Good written and verbal English communication skills., • Professional working proficiency in English is required. Technical Competencies Candidates should possess or be willing to develop the following technical competencies: • Strong knowledge of solar photovoltaic systems (desirable for space applications)., • Understanding of solar cell device physics, degradation mechanisms, electrical behavior, and performance drivers in space environments., • Experience with electrical malfunction detection and diagnostic techniques applied to photovoltaic assemblies and solar array products., • Experience with electroluminescence inspection for the detection of cracks, inactive areas, interconnection defects, shunts, and other solar cell or assembly-level anomalies., • Experience with I-V curve measurements, both under illumination and in dark conditions, including interpretation of electrical parameters and identification of abnormal behaviours., • Ability to analyze photovoltaic performance data, detect deviations, and support root cause analysis of electrical failures., • Knowledge of optoelectrical testing of solar cells, CICs, strings, panels, and Solar Array Wings., • Familiarity with ECSS standards, space quality requirements, and cleanroom working practices is valued., • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, manufacturing procedures, inspection plans, and test reports., • Experience with non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up.
