We are working on behalf of a client that designs and manufactures advanced RF, microwave, and high‑frequency electronic solutions for mission‑critical communication systems. The organisation supports complex programmes across telecommunications infrastructure, space, defence, and high‑altitude applications, where performance, reliability, and engineering rigour are essential. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join their Systems Engineering function, taking technical ownership of analogue, digital, and mixed‑signal electronics within high‑performance RF systems. The Role This is a senior, hands‑on engineering position with genuine design ownership. You will operate as a senior technical contributor, shaping electronic architecture, owning detailed circuit design, and driving designs from concept through integration, verification, and production readiness. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate closely with RF, firmware, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams, influencing system‑level performance and reliability across the full product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities • Own the design of analogue, digital, and mixed‑signal electronic circuits for high‑reliability communication systems, • Translate system‑level requirements into robust electronic design solutions, • Design signal conditioning, filtering, amplification, power management, and digital subsystems, • Lead schematic capture and define PCB requirements including stack‑up and layout constraints, • Drive system integration and act as a technical authority for interfaces including PCIe, USB, Ethernet, CAN bus, I²C, and SPI, • Lead hardware debug, verification, validation, and environmental testing, • Chair design reviews, manage technical risk, and support new product introduction, • Own component selection, lifecycle management, and obsolescence mitigation, • Lead thermal analysis, tolerance studies, and reliability modelling including MTBF calculations About You • Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering or equivalent industry experience, • Strong experience in analogue and digital circuit design at component level, • Proven ownership of designs from concept through manufacture, • Experience with schematic capture and PCB tools, Altium Designer preferred, • Solid understanding of EMC and EMI design principles, • Confident hands‑on use of laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes and spectrum analysers Desirable • Experience within RF or microwave systems, • Exposure to low or medium volume, high‑complexity manufacturing Why Apply • Take ownership of electronics within technically complex RF systems, • Influence architecture and performance decisions, • Work across the full lifecycle from concept to production, • See your designs deployed in real‑world telecoms, space, and defence applications
