An exciting opportunity has become available for a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist to join the CAMHS Eating Disorder team in Radlett, Hertfordshire. The post is part of an established team supported by a locum consultant and works with a multidisciplinary staff comprising nurses, psychologist, family therapists, support workers, CBT therapist, dietitian and administrative support. The team manages a caseload of approximately 300 young people and reviews 10–15 new referrals weekly. • Provision of the psychiatric component of the CAMHS tier 3 service to the under‑18 population in the Eating Disorder team., • Assessment of a young person’s mental state, formulation of a diagnosis and monitoring of risks., • Participation in referral meetings, case reviews, medical staff meetings and audit/quality assurance programmes., • Working with the MDT to develop effective and novel treatment approaches and internal clinical pathways., • Providing consultation, advice and support to professionals and families within the wider network., • Contributing to the supervision of trainees and the specialty doctor allocated to the service, including case‑based discussion and teaching., • Participation in CAMHS clinical governance activities, liaison with service managers and quadrant leadership team meetings., • Providing liaison and consultation with local acute paediatric services as required., • Managing, appraising and supervising junior medical staff in accordance with Trust policies and the Modernising Medical Careers framework., • Ensuring junior staff comply with the New Deal and Working Time Directive., • Performing administrative duties associated with patient care and recording clinical activity accurately for the Information Department., • MB BSc or equivalent medical qualification., • Higher qualification in psychiatry (e.g., MRCPsych or equivalent)., • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise at the time of appointment., • CCT in Psychiatry or within six months of achieving CCT/CESR at the time of interview., • Section 12 / Approved clinician approval., • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management (e.g., MD, PhD, MSc)., • Experience of the full range of clinical responsibilities expected of a consultant in CAMHS psychiatry., • Experience of close collaborative working with social care and other agencies., • Experience working with service users who have complex needs within CAMHS., • Excellent clinical skills using a bio‑psycho‑social perspective and wide medical knowledge., • Excellent oral and written communication skills., • Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty and to make decisions based on evidence and experience., • Experience of delivering undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post., • Experience in continuous professional development, research, service evaluation and clinical audit., • Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement (e.g., awards, presentations, publications)., • Holder of a full valid driving licence and access to a car (unless a disability applies). #J-18808-Ljbffr
