Job Title: CNC Machinist/Programmer THE ROLE: Working closely with the Lead Hand Machinist, the CNC Machinist/Programmer contributes to company objectives by manufacturing parts efficiently in an environment of continuous improvement. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES: • Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines (Mazatrol & Haas Controls), • Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to determine critical dimensions and tolerances to ensure accurate production • Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping, • Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task, • Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment, • Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings, as necessary, • Maintains inventory of completed products, • Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects, • Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs, • Maintains a safe and clean workstation, • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed. RESEARCH AND DESIGN: • Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs, • Test experimental models under simulated operating conditions for such purposes as development, standardization, and feasibility of design, • Evaluate processes, procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency and adaptability to setup and production GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Adhere to existing work practices, methods and procedures, • Undertake relevant training and development activities as required, • Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines, • Comply with company health and safety policies and procedures, • Perform any reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function in line with the level of responsibility of the role, • Familiarity with the company Organisation Chart, from Line Manager to the wider company structure. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED • 5 years’ experience as a CNC Machinist/Programmer, • You must be able to perform each of the specific responsibilities satisfactorily, • A working knowledge a CAD /CAM, particularly Fusion 360., • Programming and operation of: o Integrex (Mazak) o Slant Turn (Mazak) o Quick Turn (Mazak) o Haas VF series milling machines JD 008 – CNC Machinist/Programmer CNC Machinist/Programmer • Working knowledge of safety protocols. SKILLS • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety, • Proficient in maths, • Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and computer skills, • Knowledge of metals and other materials, • Organisational Skills – Strong organisation skills and ability to manage multiple tasks, • Time Management – Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently, • Communication Skills – Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
