Construction Bid Writer – Essex / London A well-established construction and refurbishment contractor based in Essex is seeking an experienced Construction Bid Writer to join their growing pre-construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Bid Writer with construction experience to play a key role in securing new business and supporting continued growth. The Role As a Construction Bid Writer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, compelling bid submissions across a range of construction and refurbishment projects. You will work closely with senior management and operational teams to develop winning submissions. Key responsibilities include: • Supporting the development of bid strategies to ensure submissions are aligned with client requirements and project objectives, • Writing clear, persuasive, and technically accurate tender responses, including method statements, risk assessments, project programmes, CVs, and organograms, • Carrying out detailed project and client research to strengthen submissions, • Ensuring all bid documentation is compliant with construction industry standards, including legal, regulatory, and health & safety requirements, • Assisting with the coordination of internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather information and validate content, • Managing multiple deadlines and supporting the timely submission of tenders Continuous Improvement • Assisting with post-bid reviews to identify areas for improvement, • Maintaining a library of bid content, templates, and case studies, • Identifying key project strengths and USPs to enhance future submissions About You • Proven experience as a Construction Bid Writer or Bid Writer within the construction or refurbishment sector, • Strong written and communication skills with a high attention to detail, • Experience working on tenders, ideally within public sector frameworks, • Organised and able to manage multiple bids simultaneously, • A collaborative approach with the ability to work across teams
