Stores Manager \n\nDE1, Derby\n\n8:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday \n\n£29,000 - £34,000 \n\nLooking for someone to start asap\n\nJob Purpose \n\nThe role is responsible for the efficient and safe day to day operation of the engineering warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory control of technical components, timely dispatch and delivery of materials and consistently high standards of safety, organisation and service support to engineering operations.\n\nThe role provides hands on leadership to a small warehouse team of three, allocating workloads, supporting skills development and training and maintaining operational performance in line with engineering and logistics processes and procedures.\n\nWorking closely with the Operations Manager, the Stores Manager ensures continuity of engineering warehouse operations during their absence and takes full ownership of site activities. This includes stock control of engineering parts and equipment, coordination of deliveries to support project timelines and strict compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements.\n\nJob Responsibilities \n\nOversee the receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of goods to ensure accurate stock control\n\t\nCarry out regular stock checks and investigate any discrepancies\n\t\nStore stock safely, efficiently and in line with warehouse procedures\n\t\nSupport communication with suppliers and internal teams to ensure stock is received on time and available when needed\n\t\nKeep the warehouse clean, organised and compliant with health and safety standards\n\t\nSupervise warehouse staff, delivery drivers and store personnel during shifts\n\t\nAssign daily tasks and workloads to support smooth operations\n\t\nProvide training, guidance and ongoing support to team members\n\t\nMonitor staff performance \n\t\nEncourage a positive, safe and productive work environment\n\t\nHelp coordinate daily delivery schedules to meet customer and business needs\n\t\nMonitor driver performance and ensure compliance with safety and company standards\n\t\nResolve delivery issues such as delays, errors or customer concerns\n\t\nEnsure vehicles are loaded safely, correctly and efficiently\n\t\nCarry out basic vehicle and equipment checks and report any issues promptly\n\t\nIdentify ways to improve operations and suggest practical solutions\n\t\nMaintain accurate operational records and reports (stock, deliveries, staffing)\n\t\nEnsure compliance with health, safety and legal requirements across warehouse and delivery operations\n\nSkills Required \n\nExperience in warehouse, stores, logistics or engineering operations\n\t\nStrong organisational and problem solving skills\n\t\nAbility to lead and supervise teams effectively\n\t\nGood communication skills with staff, customers and internal stakeholders\n\t\nUnderstanding of inventory control and delivery operations\n\t\nAbility to work under pressure and manage competing priorities\n\t\nCommitment to health, safety and continuous improvement\n\nEMA25
