Brockenhurst College is looking to recruit a permanent, part time Lecturer in Sport & Uniformed Public Service (UPS) . In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £33,367 - £44,365 per annum (pro rata). (Unqualified teachers £26,436 to £33,367 per annum (pro rata)).We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.The Lecturer in Sport & UPS Role:As our Lecturer in Sport & UPS, you will continually improve the learning experience and achievement of students through effective teaching & learning.Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Sport & UPS:Teach on courses as agreed with the Director of Faculty, Curriculum Leader and the Curriculum CoordinatorsAct as Course Coordinator, if requested.Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress towards individual targets, keep records, IV and provide timely reports/reviews to students, parents, employers and College managers, as appropriate.Work closely with other colleagues to respond to the needs of students.Pay due attention to the principles of inclusive learning including:extension resources/activities for students of higher ability;general resources, including the use of Information Learning Technology;Support for student with learning difficulties and disabilitiesContribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum.Contribute to the teaching/learning resource bank including e resources for the relevant subject/courses.Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments in the relevant subject/course.Develop and maintain effective external links related to the delivery of the subject/course and represent the College at relevant meetings.Organise and participate in relevant visits, field trips, both in the UK and overseas.Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, including Enrolment/Open Events and Parents' Evening, as appropriate.Advise and assist the Curriculum Leader and other team members in all matters related to the delivery of subject specialisms.As our Lecturer in Sport & UPS , you'll ideally have:Degree or equivalent professional qualificationAppropriate teacher training qualification (or working towards this)Excellent teaching skillsAble to manage learners and learning effectivelyAble to develop effective learning resourcesKnowledge and understating of current developments in the relevant curriculum areaSupportive and positive approach to teaching and learningEffective team playerGood administrative and organisational skillsAble to meet tight deadlines and handle pressure and a range of demandsBenefits you will receive:37 days leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time staff) plus bank holidays and college closure days (50 days altogether) with annual leave being taken flexibly during college closure periodsAccess to our Employee Assistance Programme provided externally to the College.
