Manufacturing Engineer £45,000–£55,000 Hampshire Permanent | 37.5 hours | Early Friday finish We’re looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing technology business designing and manufacturing high-quality sensor products used globally across sectors such as meteorology, agriculture, utilities, motorsport and defence. This is a fully on-site role with flexible start times and an early finish on Fridays (offering the chance to own and improve manufacturing processes for innovative electronic/mechatronic products. The Role • Design, document and implement manufacturing processes and systems for both new and existing products, ensuring they are efficient, repeatable and cost-effective., • Maintain and support current products and production processes, troubleshooting issues and driving root cause analysis and corrective actions., • Work closely with R&D to ensure new product designs are optimised for manufacture, leading the transfer of new products and changes into production., • Create and maintain assembly work instructions and related documentation, and provide training and communication on new/updated processes to production teams., • Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects (manufacturing, quality, design, supply chain) to deliver improvements on safety, quality, delivery, cost and people metrics., • Evaluate existing workflows to identify process bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, championing continuous improvement and lean principles across the factory., • Collect, analyse and present production/process data to management, including staffing, timings and cost estimates to support operational decisions., • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with relevant regulatory approvals and quality standards. Key Requirements • Degree (or equivalent) in Production, Manufacturing, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering., • Strong experience in a modern manufacturing environment, ideally involving electronics, software and mechanical systems., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a systematic approach and clear focus on continuous improvement., • Good understanding of electronics, and confident working with software systems and databases., • Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement training/certification is desirable., • Self-motivated, resilient and comfortable working independently while adapting to change., • Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and communicate clearly at all levels of the business.
