Role: Finance Assistant Location: Barnstaple Salary: Up to £24,500 (FTE) depending on experience Contract: Fixed Term – 6-month contract Hours: 22.2 hours per week About Us As a community landlord, we pride ourselves on providing quality homes, excellent services, and meaningful support for our customers. The Role We are looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to provide vital support to our busy Finance Team. You’ll play a key part in maintaining our financial processes, supporting colleagues, and ensuring smooth and efficient financial operations across the organisation. Key Responsibilities • Process and register purchase ledger invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and support with invoice queries., • Assist with ensuring purchase orders and invoices meet NDH financial regulations., • Support income accounting processes, including posting electronic and manual receipts, weekly BACS processing, and payment card administration., • Raise and post sundry debtor invoices, maintain control accounts, and support debt recovery processes in line with customer service standards., • Download daily bank transactions and assist with petty cash management., • Support the preparation of cash and cheque banking., • Provide cover for Finance team colleagues during periods of absence. About You • You will have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English., • You will have experience in a financial environment., • Strong attention to detail and ability to process data accurately., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times., • A positive, customer‑focused approach and strong teamwork skills., • Good organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines., • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
