Assistant Garment Technologist Location: Head Office- Trafford Park, Manchester Continental Textiles, home to our fast-growing brands South Beach and Loungeable, is seeking an Assistant Garment Technologist to join our dynamic Creative team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with leading retailers across categories including Swimwear, Beachwear, Nightwear, Fitness, Footwear, and Accessories for women, men, and children. The Role As an Assistant Garment Technologist, you will play a key role in ensuring all products meet the highest standards of fit, quality, and construction. You will take ownership of specific product areas while supporting the wider team, contributing to development, and building strong supplier relationships in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities • Oversee fit, quality, and construction across product categories; review samples, resolve issues, and drive improvements., • Measure and assess all sample stages; assist in and lead fit sessions, updating technical packs accordingly., • Own development for selected styles, managing admin, sample flow, and approvals end-to-end., • Monitor and manage the critical path, chasing samples and ensuring deadlines are met., • Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams on sample status and technical queries., • Support testing, compliance, and care label approvals to meet required standards., • Use systems to track progress and produce fit and development reports; analyse data to inform improvements., • Balance cost and construction considerations to support commercial decisions., • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment., • Support team development by sharing knowledge, assisting onboarding, and mentoring junior team members., • Coordinate sample selection and support shoot preparation. About You • Degree in Textiles, Fashion, or a related field., • 2+ years’ experience in a garment technology role., • Strong understanding of pattern cutting, grading, and garment construction., • Knowledge of fabric and garment testing, compliance, and quality standards., • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy., • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across teams and suppliers., • Proficient in Microsoft 365, with intermediate Excel skills., • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment., • Commercially aware with an understanding of product cost and construction balance.
