Field Service Engineer - Covering the South Coast Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Location: South Coast / Field Based Hours: Flexible field-based schedule starting from 9:00am. The company provides a full range of equipment supply, installation, servicing, maintenance, and technical support solutions, with a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and customer service. The Role We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join a growing technical support team covering customer sites across the South Coast. This is a field-based role involving installation, repair, maintenance, and support of specialist systems and equipment within customer environments. The role would suit someone with strong IT and technical engineering skills who is comfortable working independently, travelling to customer sites, and providing a high level of service in customer-facing environments. Engineers are typically assigned 2 jobs per day, with flexibility to manage their workload independently. Once jobs are completed, your day finishes. You will work from home and travel directly to sites using a company vehicle, with occasional visits to the main office for equipment and stock collection. On rare occasions, overnight stays may be required for larger installations and full lab setup projects. All travel and hotel costs are fully covered. Full product and systems training will be provided. Key Responsibilities • Installation, configuration, repair, and maintenance of specialist systems and equipment, • PC and software installations across Windows, Microsoft, and Linux environments, • Supporting and learning specialist imaging and laboratory software systems, • Fault finding across IT, electrical, and mechanical systems, • Customer support and on-site technical assistance, • Assisting with full installations and setup of new laboratory areas, • Managing workload and travel schedule effectively, • Strong IT skills including PC hardware and software installation, • Experience with Microsoft and Linux operating systems, • Comfortable learning new software and imaging systems, • Mechanical and/or electrical engineering background, • Confident working in customer-facing environments, • Full UK driving licence, • Able to work independently and as part of a team, • Good time management and organisational skills, • Professional and reliable approach to customer service, • Previous field service engineering experience, • Experience within medical, laboratory, healthcare, or regulated sectors, • Knowledge of CRM systems or technical support software
