SEN Teacher Location: Ribchester Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (40 hours per week) Start Date: September 2026 We are recruiting on behalf of a fantastic specialist education setting in Ribchester that is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis from September. This rewarding role involves supporting children aged 8–9 years with Autism and other related needs. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, child-centred learning experiences, adapting lessons to meet a range of learning styles and developmental needs. The school places a strong emphasis on practical, hands-on and play-based learning activities that help pupils build confidence, independence and a love of learning. Job Description As an SEN Teacher, you will: • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs., • Support pupils aged 8–9 years with Autism and other related needs., • Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment., • Deliver hands-on, practical and play-based learning activities., • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress against individual targets., • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals., • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and independence., • Contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans., • Maintain high expectations while celebrating every pupil’s achievements. Essential Requirements • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Primary Education., • Experience supporting and teaching pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)., • Valid Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)., • Right to Work in the UK., • Strong understanding of SEND practices and inclusive teaching strategies., • Excellent communication and classroom management skills. Desirable Skills and Experience • Previous experience working within a specialist SEN setting., • Experience supporting pupils with Autism and additional complex needs., • Understanding of EHCPs and target-based learning., • Team Teach or positive behaviour support training., • A creative approach to delivering engaging, practical learning experiences.
