I am currently working with a well-established international professional services company looking to hire a Contentious Construction Solicitor into its growing in-house legal team. This is a fully remote role, though there is the option to work from regional hub offices if preferred. Candidates must be based in the UK as the team meets in person for legal strategy meetings on occasion. The Role You will be joining a supportive and collaborative in-house legal team currently made up of Legal Counsels, a Senior Legal Counsel, and a Head of Legal. You will take full ownership of your matters, from pre-litigation stages to managing external counsel and will be responsible for all your own admin as there is no paralegal or PA support. You will have your own matters but also support more senior solicitors on larger cases. The team advises across a range of contentious construction matters and occasionally handles related commercial litigation. Candidates from a commercial litigation background will be considered if they can demonstrate a minimum of 3 years' experience handling construction disputes. What The Firm Is Looking For • A qualified solicitor with around 6 to 10 years’ PQE (though up to 12 plus will be considered), • A background in contentious construction law, either from private practice, in-house, or a blend of both, • Experience working independently and handling your own caseload, including admin, • Someone collaborative and proactive who enjoys working as part of a small but experienced legal team, • UK-based candidates only; remote working is fully supported, but occasional travel to team meetings is expected Additional Information The organisation recognises the current talent shortage in construction litigation and is open-minded and flexible for the right candidate. Solicitors qualified in Australia or New Zealand with relevant UK work experience are welcome to apply. This is a banded role which does not include private healthcare or a car allowance as standard.
