Associate Planner York, hybrid. Full time, Permanent. £50,000 - £65,000 (DOE) Monday – Friday We are looking for an experienced Associate Planner to play a pivotal role in leading projects and shaping successful planning outcomes for clients across a wide range of sectors. With deep knowledge of the UK planning system, you’ll lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage complex applications, and build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and authorities. As an associate planner, you will be responsible for: • Lead and deliver complex planning projects, providing expert advice and high-quality submissions., • Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring outstanding service and strong professional relationships., • Represent clients at site visits, consultations, hearings, committees, and public inquiries., • Manage and mentor a team of planners, supporting professional growth and technical excellence., • Contribute to business development, building the client base and identifying new opportunities., • Oversee project budgets, proposals, and delivery against financial targets. The ideal candidate will bring: • An experienced planner with 8+ years in the private sector (consultancy or client-side)., • A chartered member of the RTPI (essential)., • A proven team leader and mentor, able to inspire and develop colleagues., • Expert in UK planning legislation, processes, appeals, and applications., • Skilled in strategy, negotiation, communication, and report writing., • Confident in presenting and representing clients at a senior level., • Strong in project and resource management, balancing deadlines and budgets effectively., • Holder of a full clean driving licence., • Full clean UK driving licence. Desirable: experience in the energy sector, ECU procedures, or the Scottish planning system, plus a track record in business development.
