Develop your expertise in non-vascular interventional radiology while working across a diverse healthcare network serving communities throughout Mid and West Wales. We are seeking a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Non-Vascular Interventional Radiology to join Hywel Dda University Health Board. This role offers the opportunity to combine a broad general radiology practice with a varied range of non-viral interventional procedures, contributing to the delivery and continued development of radiology services across the region. The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative radiology department, working alongside experienced colleagues to provide high-quality diagnostic and interventional services. We welcome applications from candidates with demonstrable expertise in a wide range of non-vascular interventions and an interest in helping to shape and develop services to meet the needs of our population. The post holder will actively contribute to MDT meetings and be competent in a wide range of non-vascular interventions to include fluoroscopic, ultrasound and CT guided therapeutic and diagnostic techniques such as: • Head and neck, lung, liver, omental, retroperitoneal and soft tissue biopsies, • Temporary and permanent chest and abdominal drain insertions (e.g. cholecystectomy, nephrostomy and DJ ureteric stenting). The successful candidate will participate in the daytime Duty Radiologist rota covering inpatient scanning which could include cross cover from the base site. A proportion of the out of hours (OOH) on call is currently outsourced and completed remotely by an online Teleradiology provider. However, the directorate is currently subject to transformation bringing a proportion of this service in-house. The successful candidate will participate in the new internal on-call rota. This will include providing and promoting a flexible approach by contributing to this service completing cross-site reporting and emergency cover for our four main hospital sites where necessary on site and remotely from home. Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties. We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
