Keep one of the UK's largest quarries moving.We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to take ownership of maintenance operations at our Mountsorrel Quarry. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll motivate a skilled team, maximise plant performance, and play a key part in delivering safe, reliable and efficient operations.If you thrive in a heavy industrial environment, enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and are passionate about continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you.Whatyou'llbe doingAs Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor , you'll lead the maintenance function across fixed and mobile plant, ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance.You'll:Lead and develop a maintenance team, driving engagement and accountabilityDeliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM)programmesManage breakdown response, defect management and root cause analysisDrive improvements in plant productivity, OEE and operational performanceOversee inspections, maintenancechecksand statutory compliancePromote best practice in maintenance management and continuous improvementControl maintenance-related costs, includinglabourand overtimeResolve technical issues and support engineering projectsManage contractor relationships and service agreementsChampion a strong health,safetyand zero-harm culture across siteWhatwe'relooking forPrevious experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Supervisor, Maintenance Manager or Engineering Manager within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge ofmechanical,pneumaticand hydraulic systemsUnderstanding of electrical systemsExperience leading and developing teamsConfidence challenging standards and holding teams accountable for quality and deliveryStrong communicationand problem-solving skillsExperience with Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement techniquesIT literacy, including Microsoft Office applicationsDesirableHNC/HND,recognisedapprenticeship or BEng in a relevant engineering disciplineKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA and Continuous Improvement methodologiesWhy Tarmac?At Tarmac, who you are matters.
