Senior Children’s Support Worker Location: Ashbourne Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum Contract: Full-time, Permanent Shift Patterns: 12-hour or 24-hour shifts (rota-based) About the Role We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Children’s Support Worker to join our established residential children’s home in Ashbourne. This is a key role supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs, while providing leadership and guidance to the staff team on shift. You will play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where children and young people can thrive and achieve positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Act as a senior member of staff on shift, leading by example, • Support young people with their daily routines, education, and emotional needs, • Promote safeguarding and ensure children’s welfare is always prioritised, • Assist with care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies, • Support and mentor junior staff and new starters, • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports, • Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential, • Previous experience working in a children’s residential setting, • Experience acting as a senior, lead, or key worker preferred, • Full UK driving licence – essential (must be a car driver), • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills, • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people, • Competitive salary of £28,000 – £30,000 per year, • Consistent shift patterns (12-hour or 24-hour shifts), • Supportive management team and positive working environment, • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities, • Career progression within a growing organisation
