    As a Domiciliary Care Worker, you will provide high-quality care and support to children with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, physical disabilities, challenging behaviour, and non-verbal communication abilities and elderly. You will support clients within their homes and in the community, promoting independence, dignity, safety, and overall well-being. This role is ideal for compassionate and dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable people and their families. Key ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care & Support • Provide personal care, including assistance with hygiene, toileting, bathing, dressing, and continence care where required., • Support clients with mobility, transfers, and moving & handling in line with care plans., • Encourage independence and assist clients in developing daily living and social skills., • Provide companionship and emotional support to children, adults, and elderly clients. Behaviour & Communication Support • Support children and adults in managing challenging behaviours using patience, empathy, and positive behaviour support approaches., • Assist non-verbal clients using communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, visual aids, or other communication tools., • Promote emotional wellbeing and maintain a calm, safe, and supportive environment. Community Engagement • Accompany clients on community outings, appointments, educational activities, shopping trips, and recreational activities., • Encourage participation in hobbies, social interaction, and community engagement., • Ensure the client’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing during all activities and outings. Health & Well-being • Administer medication in line with care plans, training, and company procedures., • Monitor and report any changes in physical health, emotional wellbeing, or behaviour to the Care Manager., • Support with meal preparation and nutritional needs according to dietary requirements and care plans., • Assist elderly clients with daily routines and support to maintain independence at home. Family Collaboration • Work closely with parents, guardians, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure care plans are followed effectively., • Build positive and professional relationships with families, offering reassurance and support where appropriate. Record Keeping & Compliance • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, observations, incidents, medication administration, and daily activities in accordance with company policies., • Follow safeguarding procedures at all times and report concerns immediately., • Adhere to health & safety regulations, confidentiality standards, and company policies. Qualifications & Experience Essential • Experience working with children, adults, or elderly individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, dementia, or challenging behaviours., • Understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures., • Strong verbal and written communication skills., • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays., • Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Desirable • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)., • Experience using non-verbal communication methods such as Makaton or PECS., • Training in positive behaviour support, moving & handling, medication administration, or dementia care.
