Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team and work alongside the Head of Accounts. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who is proactive, autonomous, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You will manage the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate recording of purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Core Responsibilities • Record daily financial transactions and maintain the general ledger., • Reconcile bank statements and verify the accuracy of financial records., • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including issuing invoices and processing vendor payments., • Maintain organized financial documentation for compliance and auditing purposes., • Assisting with multiple VAT returns, • Credit control, • Other general stand bookkeeping duties Candidate Profile • Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy., • Confident communicator via phone and email., • Proficient in Excel and finance software (we use Profit 4)., • Proactive, organised, and collaborative, with the ability to work independently., • Problem solving and logical thinker Key Systems Used • Profit 4 – for orders, stock, costings and supplier/customer records, • Microsoft Excel, • Microsoft Teams, • OneDrive

    Job Description: Brown Bear Coffee is a well-established, popular brunch spot and we are now looking for a reliable, experienced chef to join our team. This individual will be required to help contribute to providing customers a smooth, fast and high quality food service, and also bring a fresh perspective to our menu, which we love to consistently update and improve. Responsibilities • Bring a calm, level headed approach to kitchen, in order to keep food being served in a smooth, fast and efficient manner., • Prepare ingredients that are required for service., • Enforce strict health and hygiene practices during your shifts., • Enforce safe food practices and record when necessary., • Contribute to keeping the kitchen clean, and food appropriately stored and labelled., • Communicating any low stocks, and what is needed to be ordered each week., • Consistently looking at opportunities to improve the running of the kitchen, rather than just continuing with the status quo., • Get creative and work alongside the manager to improve the Brown Bear Menu!, • Be willing to prepare bagels if possible (baking experience is preferred, but additional training will be provided).
