Job Summary & Responsibilities QSAC is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to work with children and young adults. This opportunity is located at our Whitestone Day School. The OT will follow a treatment plan/IEP goals developed to improve, develop, restore, or maintain opportunities for active participation in self-maintenance, work, leisure, and play for the students we support. OT’s will also provide education and training to Occupational Therapy Assistants. Responsibilities Treatment Plans & Supervision • Direct service according to a written treatment plan/IEP that the OT develops, • Recommend modification of treatment approaches to reflect the student’s changing needs, • Develop appropriate plans for the students being supported, • Communicates and interacts with other team members, school personnel, and families, • Develop and maintain a daily schedule, which includes sites, students/classrooms and other activities/duties, • Maintain and records accurate records and documentation, • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program required, • Current New York State OT license to practice required, • Experience working with people with autism highly preferred QSAC is a New York City and Long Island based nonprofit that supports children and adults with autism, together with their families, in achieving greater independence, realizing their future potential, and contributing to their communities in a meaningful way by offering person-centered services.
