Job DescriptionService Manager Department: Operations Location: Astoria, NY (Queens) Preference: Candidates living in/near Astoria or with a reasonable commute We are hiring an experienced Service Manager to lead daily operations in a fast-paced startup branch environment. This key leadership role focuses on driving team performance, delivering high-quality service, managing branch financials, and ensuring strong customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and oversee all Service department operations, including scheduling, route completion, installations, and service appointments (hands-on work required in early stages), • Set and maintain high quality, safety, cost control, and on-time delivery standards, • Manage, coach, and develop the service team: performance reviews, recruitment, hiring, and terminations, • Maintain proper staffing levels per regional directives, • Oversee inventory control, service materials, company vehicles, and facility maintenance (including cleanliness and safety inspections), • Monitor KPIs, track performance against goals, and implement corrective actions, • Fully manage the branch Profit & Loss (P&L) – responsible for achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets, • Build a positive team culture and strong relationships with employees, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, • Recommend and implement process improvements, • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record, • High School diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred), • Minimum 5+ years of strong leadership experience managing direct reports in a service-oriented industry, • Solid knowledge of inventory control techniques, • Proficient in Excel, Salesforce (or similar CRM), HR systems, and routing platforms, • Significant management experience in technical/trade services (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, facility maintenance, or similar), • Route logistics and operations experience, • Exceptional leadership and process improvement mindset, • Strong attention to detail, • Problem-solving and creative solution development, • Excellent verbal and written communication, • Base salary: $80,000 – $90,000 (based on experience), • Performance bonus, • Car allowance, • Health & dental benefits Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans The Know Your Rights poster is available here: The pay transparency policy is available here: For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, the Company is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.
