Job Description Department: Food and Beverage Reports To: Restaurant Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Pay: $11.35 + tips Hours: Combination of shifts, AM, Mid and PM shifts based on business and events Weekend coverage needed consistently - If you are looking for weekends off, this is not the job for you Summary: Facilitates food service by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Carries plates and/or service trays to and from kitchen and dining room. *, • Completes all assigned opening and closing side work to prepare dining room, kitchen and service stations for efficient operation during meal period.*, • Cleans and maintains all areas of restaurant including kitchen, bar, lobby, rest rooms and grounds; wipes table tops and chairs with damp cloth. *, • Replace soiled table linens and set tables with silverware and glassware.*, • Replenishes supply of stocks such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes in dining room; alerts kitchen and management of stock shortages. *, • Supplies service bar with food such as soups, salads, and desserts. *, • Assists server, bartender and customers as needed throughout the meal period. *, • Lifts and carries garbage from the restaurant and disposes of in proper areas. *, • Adheres to all restaurant policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures. *, • Serve ice water and butter to patrons.*, • Cleans and polishes glass shelves and doors of service bars and equipment such as coffee urns and cream and milk dispensers. *, • Reports any problems or discrepancies to management immediately., • Communicates with host/hostess and manager when tables have been cleared. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
