Job Description Lighthouse is seeking passionate and dedicated Behavior Technicians to join our team of professionals. As a Behavior Technician, you will provide one-on-one ABA therapy to children with autism and other special needs under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. As you build a relationship with children and their families, your work will directly contribute to their growth, development, and improved quality of life. Responsibilities Your responsibilities as a Behavior Technician at Lighthouse will include the following: • Implement ABA therapy techniques under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)., • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to children, following individualized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs., • Teach and reinforce appropriate social, communication, and behavioral skills in a supportive and structured environment., • Foster a positive and engaging therapeutic relationship with clients, promoting their independence and well-being., • Conduct assessments, collect data, and track progress to ensure effective treatment outcomes., • Collaborate with the BCBA and interdisciplinary team members to review progress, address concerns, and modify treatment plans as necessary., • Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers, providing updates on therapy goals, progress, and strategies for generalization of skills to the home setting., • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of therapy sessions, including progress notes and data collection., • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in ABA therapy. Duties • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote learning through play and exploration., • Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a positive and safe learning environment., • Assess children's developmental progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs., • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support children's growth., • Incorporate special education strategies when necessary to accommodate diverse learning needs., • Organize activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development., • Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning., • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and any concerns., • Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the educational experience., • Qualifications, • A Associate Degree or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education (B-2)., • Child Development Associate (CDA) certification and a study plan leading to an associate's degree in early childhood education within seven years., • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); nine college credits in early childhood education or child development; two years’ experience caring for children, and a study plan leading to an associate's degree in early childhood education within seven years., • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and five years of supervised experience in an infant/toddler classroom if currently employed in a permitted child care program., • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); and a study plan that is acceptable to the department leading to nine credits in early childhood education or childhood development within two years; and a study plan leading to an associate's degree in early childhood., • Previous experience in a school or childcare is preferred., • Strong skills in classroom management to maintain an effective learning environment., • Experience in babysitting, nannying, or caregiving for young children is advantageous., • Familiarity with toddler care principles and practices., • A genuine passion for educating young children and supporting their development., • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
