Job DescriptionStep into a mission-driven role as a Travel ICU Registered Nurse in Bakersfield, California, where every shift is an opportunity to save lives, advance practice, and mentor peers under high-stakes conditions. In this ICU assignment, you’ll lead critical care for adults with respiratory, cardiac, and multi-system emergencies, manage ventilators and hemodynamic support, titrate vasoactive medications, and coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, and therapists. Your clinical judgment will guide early interventions, infection control, and patient-family communication, helping families find hope amid rapid change. Beyond the bedside, this adventure invites you to discover California’s rich scenery—coastal drives along the Pacific, the granite majesty of Sierra Nevada foothills, wine country vineyards, and the sprawling beauty of urban and rural towns. The state’s diversity complements your professional growth with exposure to varied patient populations, protocols, and census patterns, empowering you to refine your practice while enjoying time off to explore. The assignment starts on 12/08/2025 for a set of weeks, with the possibility to extend or rotate through additional locations across the United States, tailoring your career path to your professional and personal goals. Bakersfield itself offers a welcoming community with a thriving restaurant scene, parks and outdoor spaces, and a strategic base for exploring the Sierra foothills and weekend getaways along the coast. Location benefits: Bakersfield offers a welcoming community atmosphere with convenient amenities, affordable living options, and access to outdoor recreation, including parks, biking trails, and nearby mountains for weekend escapes. As part of a broader national travel program, you’ll also have the option to experience different facilities across the U.S.—urban centers and community hospitals alike—gaining exposure to diverse ICU protocols, equipment, and care models. You’ll benefit from the security of working with a company that coordinates housing, scheduling, and streamlined logistics, so you can focus on clinical excellence and patient outcomes. And because every traveler deserves support, 24/7 assistance travels with you, backed by a dedicated team ready to handle emergencies, coordinate credentialing, and resolve issues so you can stay present at the bedside. Role specifics and benefits: In this ICU RN role, you’ll perform and oversee critical care duties including patient assessment, invasive line care, ventilator management, sedation and analgesia monitoring, early mobility strategies, and rapid response escalation when patient status changes. You’ll participate in care planning, participate in daily rounds, document thoroughly, and educate patients and families to demystify complex therapies. The position offers competitive weekly pay between $1,907 and $2,090, with housing assistance and a sign-on bonus to ease transition. We also provide extension opportunities for continued assignments, predictable opportunities to increase responsibility, and access to continuing education resources to help you stay at the forefront of critical care. In addition to clinical support, you’ll receive mentorship, structured orientation, and access to a broad network of clinical peers who share best practices. You’ll be part of a system that prioritizes safety, standardization, and evidence-based practice, and you’ll benefit from proactive scheduling and a transparent path toward advancement. How this role supports you: you’ll receive dedicated travel coordination, credentialing assistance, and ongoing clinical support; a mentored onboarding with hands-on simulation refreshers to ensure confidence on day one; and the chance to extend into other facilities with similar patient populations to maintain momentum and growth. Company values: Our organization is built on empowering clinicians to grow—whether through leadership tracks, specialty certifications, or cross-functional collaboration. We foster a supportive, inclusive culture where feedback is welcomed, achievements celebrated, and work-life balance respected. You’ll join teams that value your input, encourage professional resilience, and invest in your long-term success through dedicated resources, education stipends, and a commitment to your well-being as a caregiver. Here, your impact is recognized, your voice matters in shaping safer patient care, and your career trajectory is designed to align with your aspirations. Call to action: If you’re ready to apply your ICU expertise where it truly matters, to explore California’s vast landscapes while shaping the future of critical care, we invite you to join us.
