MetalWyze is seeking a strategic and organized Logistics Supervisor to oversee our transportation operations. This is a critical mid-level role with decision-making authority over our freight spend. You will serve as the "Traffic Control Tower" for the entire company, managing the inbound flow of raw master coils from mills and the outbound delivery of finished goods to our customers. You will directly dispatch our internal fleet of CDL drivers and negotiate rates with third-party carriers, ensuring that MetalWyze delivers on its promise of speed and reliability while maintaining strict cost controls. QUALIFICATIONS • Logistics Experience: 3-5 years of experience in freight management, dispatching, or transportation logistics (preferably in flatbed/industrial hauling)., • Fleet Management: Experience managing daily route planning and compliance for CDL Class A drivers (knowledge of ELD mandates and DOT Hours of Service is required)., • Freight Negotiation: Proven ability to negotiate rates with third-party brokers and carriers (LTL and Full Truckload)., • Digital Proficiency: Ability to navigate digital MRP/ERP systems (experience with ABIS Adjutant is a major plus) along with load board software., • Internal Fleet Dispatch: Plan daily routes for MetalWyze’s internal CDL Class A drivers, optimizing stops to ensure on-time delivery and maximum fuel efficiency., • 3rd Party Freight Brokerage: Secure external transportation for shipments that exceed internal capacity or fall outside our fleet’s range. Negotiate spot rates with flatbed/Conestoga carriers to protect margins., • Inbound Logistics: Collaborate with the Inventory Purchaser to track and schedule inbound master coil shipments from mills, ensuring raw material arrives just-in-time for production., • Load Planning: Analyze orders in ABIS Adjutant to consolidate shipments effectively (grouping LTLs into multi-stop truckloads)., • Compliance: Monitor driver electronic logs (ELDs) to ensure compliance with DOT Hours of Service & maintain up-to-date driver qualification files (medical cards, licenses)., • Carrier Vetting: Qualify new outside carriers to ensure they have the proper insurance and safety ratings to haul high-value metal products., • Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between Sales, Operations, and the Customer regarding delivery windows and tracking updates., • Cost Analysis: Audit freight invoices against quoted rates and report monthly on freight-cost-per-pound metrics to the General Manager., • Competitive pay ($75k to $90k), • Paid vacation and holidays, • 401(k) with discretionary employer match
