We are currently looking for a Food Forensics Associate to join our growing team! POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Food Forensics isolates filth elements from various food products and performs chemical analysis on spices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Performs wet chemical analysis to isolate micro extraneous filth elements from various food products., • Performs chemical analysis to determine spice quality., • Reports results for basic tests., • Actively participates in and understands all relevant Quality Control testing requirements., • Other duties as required. POSITION OBJECTIVES: • Using the appropriate SOP’s, performs wet chemical analysis to accurately isolate microextraneous filth elements from various food products., • Accurately report results for analytical testing performed., • Actively participate in any Spice Chemical Proficiency Samples Program deemed relevant by Certified Laboratories., • Utilizing the appropriate reagents, prepares solutions necessary to perform filth extractions. Including accurately labeling and record keeping of all solutions and reagents prepared., • Performs qualitative and quantitative spice chemical analysis using the proper Compendial methodology and/or SOP’s., • Macroscopically analyze various food products to isolate and quantify visual contaminants., • Maintain proficiency while use and calibration of the top loaders and analytical balances., • Awareness in the proper use and care of various microscopes., • Works effectively other departments., • Proactively looking for ways to help others. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: • BS degree and appropriate industry specific experience, or BA/BS degree, preferably in life sciences; current employees without the required degree have been grandfathered based on their years of experience already in the position., • Strong relevant qualitative and quantitative skills., • Excellent organizational skills – ability to use your time, energy, resources, etc. in an effective manner., • Proven attention to detail with effective organizational skills., • Excellent hand/eye coordination., • Excellent manual dexterity., • Ability to distinguish colors., • Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
