Job Description Director of Anti-Violence Services Albany, NY (On-Site) Full-Time, Exempt About In Our Own Voices, Inc. (IOOV) In Our Own Voices, Inc. (IOOV) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving LGBTQ+ Black, Brown, and marginalized communities across New York’s Capital Region. Our work is rooted in advocacy, healing, and liberation. We address violence, advance health equity, expand housing access, and build leadership within communities that have historically been underserved. Our Anti-Violence Services Program is central to this mission, providing life-saving, culturally responsive support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, hate violence, and systemic harm. Position Overview The Director of Anti-Violence Services is a senior leadership role responsible for driving strategy, impact, and daily operations of IOOV’s survivor-centered programs. This position leads a multidisciplinary team and ensures the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive services. This is an opportunity to lead transformative work that supports LGBTQ+ BIPOC survivors and strengthens systems of care across the region. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Program Strategy • Lead the strategic direction, growth, and continuous improvement of IOOV’s Anti-Violence Services Program, • Align program goals with organizational priorities and evolving community needs, • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of advocates and program staff, • Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and mission-driven team culture, • Ensure delivery of trauma-informed, survivor-centered services, • Oversee crisis intervention, legal advocacy, systems navigation, and support services, • Lead management of federal, state, and local grants, including OVW, OVS, VOCA, and DOH, • Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements, deliverables, and fiscal guidelines, • Partner with the COO and the Fiscal team on budgeting, financial reporting, and funding strategy, • Support grant writing, renewals, and new funding opportunities, • Represent IOOV in coalitions, task forces, and community initiatives, • Build and maintain strong partnerships with law enforcement, courts, healthcare providers, and community organizations, • Develop and deliver training on LGBTQ+ advocacy, trauma-informed care, and cultural responsiveness, • Lead outreach, public education, and community engagement efforts, • Support major IOOV initiatives and events Qualifications Required • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Gender Studies, or related field (Master’s preferred), • Minimum 5 years of experience in victim services, gender-based violence, or LGBTQ+ advocacy, • At least 2 years of leadership and staff supervision experience, • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, intersectionality, and culturally responsive practices, • Experience with grant management, reporting, and data systems, • Bilingual (Spanish or other relevant languages), • Experience with government funding (OVW, OVS, VOCA, HUD, DOH), • Knowledge of New York State victim services and housing systems training Benefits Include: • 100% employer-paid health insurance coverage, • Dental and vision options, • Paid time off, including vacation, sick time, and organizational holidays, • Professional development and training opportunities, • Wellness and self-care supports, • 2% employer 401(k) contribution, • Opportunities for leadership growth within a mission-driven organization Work Environment • On-site position based in Albany, NY, • Travel within the Capital Region as needed, • Evening and weekend availability required Why Join IOOV This is more than a job.
