    PORTER / CARGO TRUCK DRIVER Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Porter / Cargo Truck Driver to assist with transporting, loading, unloading, and handling cargo while also supporting general porter and warehouse duties. The ideal candidate is a safe and responsible driver who can operate cargo trucks and assist with deliveries and physical handling of materials. Responsibilities • Safely operate company cargo trucks to transport goods, equipment, supplies, and materials., • Pick up and deliver cargo to designated locations on schedule., • Load, unload, move, and secure cargo safely., • Inspect cargo and ensure items are properly secured before transportation., • Assist with lifting, carrying, and moving heavy or bulky items when needed., • Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules., • Complete delivery paperwork, logs, receipts, and other required documentation., • Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections., • Report vehicle issues, accidents, damages, or maintenance concerns to management., • Keep the truck clean, organized, and properly maintained., • Assist with warehouse, porter, loading dock, and general facility duties when not driving., • Follow all company safety procedures and applicable traffic regulations., • Provide professional and courteous service to customers and delivery locations., • Perform other transportation and porter duties as assigned. Qualifications • Valid driver's license appropriate for the type of cargo truck being operated., • Previous experience driving cargo, box, delivery, or commercial trucks preferred., • Clean and safe driving record preferred., • Previous experience in delivery, warehouse, porter, or material-handling work is a plus., • Able to safely lift, carry, and move cargo and equipment., • Good knowledge of local roads and delivery routes., • Reliable, punctual, and responsible., • Able to work independently and follow instructions., • Good communication and customer-service skills., • Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, or overtime when required. Schedule Full-time, part-time, or flexible schedules may be available depending on business needs. Compensation Competitive pay based on driving experience, license qualifications, and cargo-handling experience. Driver- Transportation: Duties & Responsibilities Monday- Friday; Hourly; Medical Benefits; Earned vacation/sick time; Holidays Driver Responsibilities Transport and Escort *Transport older adults to and from the center and occasionally to various destinations as required. (i.e., medical appointments, benefits , etc.) *Ensure the safety of the passengers through the use of seat belts, wheel chair brackets and other safety devices. *Ensure that vehicle safety is adhered to at all times (i.e., passengers are secured and seated before driver moves) *Assist in the scheduling of routes. *Complete daily passenger log. *Collect and record participants contributions. *Ensure all required vehicle signs/postings are visible and up-to-date. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when necessary, to address passenger health or safety issues promptly. Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle interior and exterior, performing pre-trip inspections and reporting any mechanical issues immediately. Communicate effectively with passengers using clear language; manage behavior and discipline when needed to ensure a respectful environment. Respond quickly to traffic changes or route adjustments to ensure on-time arrivals while prioritizing passenger safety. Adhere to all driving codes, policies, and local/state commercial driving laws while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. Experience Proven experience in driving, including transit bus operation, school bus driving, truck driving with a strong understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations. Experience working with seniors is highly desirable; ability to manage behavior and provide compassionate customer service. Knowledge of emergency response procedures for transportation situations such as accidents or medical emergencies; CPR certification is a plus. Familiarity with wheelchair assistance techniques Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are an advantage for serving diverse communities. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements; knowledge of vehicle codes and transportation safety regulations required.     Full job description Healthy Heart Foods is seeking an experienced, hands-on Fleet Manager to oversee our commercial delivery fleet. This is an operational position, not a desk-only management role. We are looking for someone who understands trucks, drivers, maintenance, and the day-to-day challenges of keeping a busy delivery fleet on the road. Candidates must have commercial truck driving experience and be willing and able to drive company trucks when needed. Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operation and readiness of the company vehicle fleet. Take full ownership of all vehicle maintenance, repairs, breakdowns, towing, and rentals. Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules for every vehicle. Coordinate repairs with mechanics, dealerships, body shops, refrigeration technicians, towing companies, and other vendors. Track vehicles that are out of service and actively manage their return to operation. Arrange rental or replacement vehicles when needed to prevent interruptions to deliveries. Review repair estimates, recommendations, and invoices. Monitor tires, brakes, oil changes, inspections, liftgates, refrigeration systems, and other vehicle maintenance requirements. Maintain an accurate record of the condition and status of every vehicle. Work closely with dispatch and operations to ensure enough trucks are available for daily routes. Drive company delivery trucks when operational needs require it, including emergencies, driver call-outs, moving vehicles, or other situations. Collaborate with management and HR in interviewing and evaluating driver candidates. Participate in road tests and help determine whether prospective drivers have the appropriate driving skills and judgment. Assist with driver onboarding, training, and safety procedures. Monitor GPS/fleet-management systems, mileage, vehicle utilization, and driver behavior. Monitor fleet expenses including repairs, maintenance, rentals, towing, fuel, and other costs. Identify opportunities to reduce vehicle downtime and unnecessary fleet expenses. Recommend when vehicles should be repaired, replaced, rented, or removed from service. Qualifications Commercial truck driving experience required. Must be willing and able to drive company trucks as needed. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. CDL preferred where applicable. Previous fleet management, fleet maintenance, transportation management, or similar experience. Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair. Experience working with mechanics, repair shops, dealerships, towing companies, and rental companies. Experience supervising, interviewing, training, or evaluating drivers. Knowledge of DOT, DMV, commercial vehicle, and driver safety requirements. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Comfortable using GPS/fleet-management software, spreadsheets, and other technology. Ability to troubleshoot problems and make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment.
