    Job description: Job Title: Anchor Nursery School Teacher (Ages 3–4) Position Type: Part-Time (3 days/week) Schedule: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM Start Date: Fall 2026 (Assistant Teaching Role through June 2026) Location: 46 Dare Road Selden Ny 11784 About the Position Anchor Nursery School is seeking a creative, caring, and enthusiastic Nursery School Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This position offers a unique opportunity for a new educator to spend the remainder of the current school year assistant teaching, before taking on the lead teacher role beginning in Fall 2026. Our ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood development, enjoys designing engaging and imaginative learning experiences, and fosters a nurturing environment where children ages 3–4 can explore, grow, and thrive. Responsibilities Collaborate with current lead teachers to assist in classroom activities and routines for the remainder of the current school year. Transition into the lead teacher role in Fall 2026, overseeing a class of 3–4-year-olds. Plan and implement creative, developmentally appropriate lessons that promote curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth. Incorporate play-based and hands-on learning experiences to support cognitive and language development. Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment. Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and colleagues. Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as needed. Qualifications Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Bachelor’s degree candidates welcome). Teaching license preferred, but not required. Experience working with young children (ages 3–4) in a classroom, camp, or childcare setting. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. This is not a spray-and-go route job — we train and operate at a higher technical standard using building science, craftsmanship, IPM, and K9-supported detection.
