Job Description Mechanic in Training – Contract to Perm Hoboken, NJ 07030 $20.00 – $24.00 per hour Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM Job Summary: We are seeking a Mechanic in Training to join our water/wastewater treatment operations team. This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on treatment plants and related equipment, helping ensure reliable operation of critical municipal systems. Responsibilities: · Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, buildings, and grounds. · Lubricate equipment, check for malfunctions, and replace bearings, seals, or pump packing. · Tune engines, adjust regulators, and troubleshoot equipment failures. · Install and set up new equipment. · Perform plumbing and pipefitting, including pipe cleaning. · Use gas or arc welding equipment for heating, cutting, brazing, or welding. · Paint and maintain interior/exterior of facilities. · Maintain accurate maintenance records. · Follow all safety guidelines and contribute to a safe workplace. Qualifications: · Valid driver’s license with clean record. Preferred Qualifications: · Maintenance experience in wastewater treatment facilities (or similar industrial environment). · CMRT certification or ability to obtain within 3 years. · Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). · Forklift operation experience. · Strong commitment to safe work practices.
