Job Description JOB DEFINITION: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is to provide Psychiatric Assessments and medication management to children and adults experiencing a behavioral health crisis within a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week to Crisis Stabilization Center. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in advanced practice nursing from an accredited program, with a New York State license and registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Psychiatry, and current DEA registration. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Substantial clinical experience with the diagnosis and treatment of the entire spectrum of mental disorders, in outpatient and/or inpatient settings. Experience will include management of seriously and persistently ill clients as well as those with psychiatric and co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Familiarity with current DSM criteria. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provides psychiatric and substance abuse care and medication to appropriate clients applying standards of care consistent with good medical judgment and current practice in the psychiatric community. Job DescriptionPlanned Parenthood of Greater New York is seeking a Patient Care Associate to join our Clinical Services team for a full-time 37.5 hour work week. This position will be based at our Hempstead, NY health center. Picture yourself here: When you join PPGNY as a Patient Care Associate you will be responsible for patient intake in the clinic and front desk, obtaining complete medical history, provides education about human sexuality, family planning, abortion, colposcopy, LEEP and general health education, as applicable. What a Patient Care Associate Does: • Support front desk with check ins, scheduling, patient inquiries, etc., • Reviews the patient health history for completeness and records findings. Alerts APC regarding critical information about the patient chief complaint, history of present illness, and other patient information., • Documents competently in the electronic medical record using the correct PPGNY templates and forms., • Assists in promoting optimum center operations, excellent patient service and compliance with both agency and funding source policies and regulations., • Adheres to affiliate goals and policies on professionalism, wait time in-clinic and on the phone, and the system for addressing client complaints., • Assess flow of patients through health center to minimize patient wait times., • Assists in the orientation and training of new clinic staff, as indicated, • Ensures charge capture and financial reporting by accurately documenting in EHR and completing CVR data as appropriate for all medical and counseling services provided., • Ensures access to interpreter services for patients with communication barriers., • Perform other duties as assigned., • Provides health education and care related to sexual and reproductive healthcare, • Provide accurate patient centered, non-judgmental, education according to MS&G and signs informed consent related to visit., • Performs laboratory tests as ordered, completes laboratory requisitions, and packages labs for transport according to PPGNY lab procedures. Runs Daily Controls., • Performs clinic opening and closing duties; clinic and equipment cleaning; re-stocking supplies, etc. Reports facility and equipment issues, as indicated, • Follows all lab and quality assurance protocols; uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection control precautions, • Assists in abortion service in a variety of functions as needed, including abortion counseling, Products of Conception (POC) room, float and assisting in surgical room., • Attends monthly didactics and incorporates information into daily care provision., • Maintains clinical skills and competencies as required by PPGNY, PPFA, and NYS DOH. Job Description JOB DEFINITION: To provided clinical leadership, supervision and coordination of nursing services within the Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center. To oversee nursing staff on shift, manage critical incidents, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to stabilize and support individuals in crisis, in addition to providing crisis services. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the New York State Department of Education and possess an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. . EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Two (2) years of community mental health experience and/or mental health experience specifically working in psychiatric, behavioral health, or crisis stabilization settings., • Previous experience working with children and adolescents, familiarity with emergency response protocols, and de-escalation techniques is highly preferred., • Previous experience in a supervisory role required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensures the completion of all medical assessments for each client, including coordinating additional services with the psychiatrist., • Collaborates with the psychiatrist in the coordination of care for clients to include clinical and educational training of the team as needed; development, maintenance and supervision of all medication administration efforts; supervision of all psychiatric and medical treatment and/or medical interventions., • Monitors the pharmacological effects of prescribed psychotropic medications and notifies the psychiatrist of their reported effectiveness., • Working in conjunction with the psychiatrist and nurse practitioner, is responsible for the coordination of patient education efforts to include the benefits, risks and possible side effects of prescribed medication. This education effort is not limited to home visits but may also include the coordination of various groups to include but not limited to, medication, wellness, etc., • Responsible for entering the documentation in EHR., • Responsible for conducting shift change reports and ensure continuity of care through accurate communication and documentation., • Supervise and support nursing staff during assigned shift, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and documentation requirements., • Oversee patient triage, assessment, medication administration, monitoring, and crisis intervention., • Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies, initiate appropriate interventions, and de-escalate high risk situations., • Provide mentorship, performance feedback, and support ongoing development of ICSC nursing staff., • Monitor inventory of medical supplies and medications, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards., • Maintain trauma-informed care principles and promote safe, respectful, and recovery-oriented care., • Support the use of data in clinical supervision to inform decision-making, • Identify and implement quality improvement trainings and activities as part of professional development goals, • Ability to cultivate a culture of inclusion for all employees that respects their individual strengths, views and experiences.
