We’re looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support both corporate-wide accounting operations and administrative functions within our Finance team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining internal controls, supporting financial systems, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting. This is a full-time, non-exempt senior support position based at our headquarters in Modesto, CA with a hybrid work schedule. What you’ll be doing: • Prepare and reconcile General Ledger accounts and bank statements during monthly close, • Manage the Concur travel and expense platform, ensuring effective system usage, and provide training to new and existing staff on expense reporting and related accounting procedures, • Prepare and review VISA reconciliations, ensuring all receipts, approvals, and expense justifications comply with ABC’s Internal Control Policy, • Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and conduct annual inventory, • Prepare international and domestic wire transfers and ensure accurate recording in both the accounting system and bank records, • Support internal, external, and compliance audits through document preparation and retrieval, • Maintain and reconcile petty cash accounts, • Post all cash receipts, maintain accounts receivable records and databases, and ensure payment compliance in accordance with the Federal Marketing Order, • Oversee document retention and disposal in compliance with USDA regulations, • Support insurance policy coordination and maintain records and accountability of all ABC vehicles, • Manage administrative duties for Finance and Audit Committee meetings, including minutes, agenda, and materials, • Assist with budget coordination and analysis Our ideal candidate requirements: • AA/AS degree in accounting or business, with 5–7 years of related experience, • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills; ERP system and Concur experience preferred, • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and sound judgment Medical, Dental, Vision coverage with generous dependent contributions Health Savings Account on some plans with company contributions each pay period Disability and Life Insurance Hybrid schedule Simplifed Employee Pension plan and 457 retirement savings Mobile/Internet Reimbursement if applicable Variable Compensation Bonus Generous Time Off policy Volunteer Time Off Fabulous Team Mates / Collaborative / Supportive Environment Ability to support an amazing industry and hard working farmers!
