Position Overview The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing all marketing, communications, and event initiatives for both Opportunity Stanislaus and VOLT Institute. This role provides strategic direction to market the two organizations, both jointly and independently, while managing a dedicated team aligned to each brand. The position leads community engagement efforts, drives the development of new programs, and ensures consistent, compelling messaging across all platforms. The Manager collaborates with internal stakeholders, external partners, and the community to enhance brand visibility, strengthen organizational impact, and support long-term growth objectives. Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities * Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies that effectively promote Opportunity Stanislaus and VOLT Institute, both independently and in partnership. * Manage and maintain organizational websites, ensuring timely updates, engaging content, and consistent brand presentation. * Lead, mentor, and develop marketing and communications staff, fostering collaboration and alignment with organizational objectives. * Plan, coordinate, and execute key events, including Celebrate the Central Valley, Investor Meeting, VOLT Graduation, Central Valley Business Expo, and other community engagement initiatives. * Oversee all communications, including press releases, newsletters, social media, advertising, and promotional materials. * Design and produce marketing assets for video, print, digital platforms, and branded merchandise to enhance visibility and engagement. * Implement, manage, and optimize marketing technology platforms, including Salesforce, Active Campaign, and various social media management tools. * Collaborate with investors, community partners, and stakeholders to identify workforce training needs and implement strategic solutions. * Track and analyze performance metrics, adjusting strategies to maximize effectiveness and impact. * Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. * Participate in professional development opportunities provided by the Company. If attendance is required, it will be compensated in accordance with wage and hour laws. * Serve as a professional representative of Opportunity Stanislaus and VOLT Institute when interacting with community members and stakeholders. * This role may require occasional driving on company business. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Marketing Expertise – Comprehensive knowledge of branding, content development, campaign execution, and multi-channel promotion strategies. * Strategic Thinking – Skilled at aligning marketing initiatives with organizational objectives and adapting to evolving priorities. * Digital Proficiency – Experienced in website content management, social media engagement, email marketing, and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms. * Event Management – Demonstrated success in planning, coordinating, and executing events of varying scale and complexity. * Leadership & Team Development – Proven ability to mentor, coach, and motivate team members while fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment. * Communication Skills – Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences. * Data Analysis & Reporting – Proficient in tracking marketing metrics, analyzing performance data, and applying insights to data-driven decision-making. * Relationship Building – Skilled at developing and maintaining strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, media outlets, and vendors. * Creative Problem-Solving – Innovative approach to overcoming challenges and identifying opportunities for growth. * Time & Project Management – Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, brands, and marketing channels while meeting deadlines. * Technical Proficiency – Experienced in tools and platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Salesforce, Active Campaign, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Squarespace, or comparable software. * Results-Oriented Mindset – Knowledge of ROI-focused marketing strategies and the ability to measure and optimize campaign performance. Experience, Education, and Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field preferred. * 5+ years of marketing and communications; experience in economic development or workforce training is a plus. Physical and Environmental Conditions and Demands * Indoors in a typical office environment, approximately ninety-five percent (95%) of the time. * Frequent computer use at the workstation for up to eight hours. * Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions. * May occasionally move (walk or drive) from one work location to another. * Ability to walk, sit, stand, stoop, crouch, and climb stairs, with or without reasonable accommodation. * Ability to move and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, with reasonable accommodations as needed. * Visual Acuity (Far/Near). * Regular and Consistent Attendance.
