Summary As a Motorcycle/Powersports/Mechanic/Technician, you’ll perform vehicle repairs as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. Your attention to detail makes you a valuable asset to the team as you ensure repairs are completed on time and deliver top-notch work to delight our customers. In this role, you’ll interact daily with Customers, Service Advisors, other Technicians, Parts Associates, Cashiers, Sales Associates and Managers. Essential Duties: • Performing unit repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards to drive Customer loyalty., • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment., • Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc., • Communicating with Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs., • Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications, • Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order., • Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”, • Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty., • Train and mentor less experienced technicians., • Show efficiency in time management, productivity, and meeting deadlines., • Abide by all dealership policies and procedures., • Complete any specific duties deemed necessary to the overall success of the department and dealership as a whole., • Be able to work with LightspeedEVO operation system (willing to train)., • Stay abreast of latest trends and techniques pertaining to motorcycle and powersports functions, operability, and repair., • Keep current on all factory training including certifications, web-based or other training, technical service bulletins, other updated literature, and new model training., • Ensure that adequate internal controls are functioning appropriately within assigned areas., • Adhere to corporate policies/procedures, documentation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements (i.e., federal, state, local)., • Comply with the BAR RO standards (Write it Right)., • Exercise an appropriate level of courtesy, tact, and professional communications in dealing with others., • Contribute to a favorable public image of Honda Kawasaki KTM of Modesto., • Contribute toward effective team problem solving with other employees and management to foster a collaborative workplace, and to promote positive customer experiences., • Exhibit an elevated level of commitment to customer satisfaction., • Adhere to a standard of professional ethics., • Show an elevated level of ownership, accountability, and initiative., • Work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of tasks efficiently and with minimal error., • Maintain positive relationships with customers, other employees, and owners., • Show an interest in growing the business in the Sales and Service department., • Keep himself/herself groomed and clothed per the dealership guidelines., • High School Diploma or equivalent., • Powersports / Motorsports experience, • Mechanically inclined, • Tools needed to perform minor services/accessory installations., • Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic., • Attention to detail and an organized workspace., • Ability to lift/move 80 lbs., • Ability to support and push large motorcycles, ATV's, SxS's in excess of 800 lbs., • Understand and follow PDI manuals and service manuals., • Test drive to ensure work was completed correctly., • Valid driver’s license with motorcycle endorsement, • Valid driver's license with M1 endorsement, • MMI or equivalent manufacturer certifications, • Achieve and maintain certifications from manufacturers. Analytical Skills • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems., • Ability to observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources., • Ability to monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems., • Able to compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, or verify information or data., • Possess basic computer skills., • The ability to learn dealer management software and other related software., • Ability to speak effectively and clearly., • Ability to listen effectively., • Ability to provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, in person, or electronic messaging clearly and efficiently., • Ability to follow instructions, both written and verbal., • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos., • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals., • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence., • Must be authorized to work in United States., • Must provide own transportation to work with a valid driver’s license and provide proof of insurance. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and it is a controlled environment.
