Relocation is not available. JOB STATEMENT: The Human Resources Generalist (HRIS, Benefits & Compensation) plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s people strategy through effective management of HR systems, employee benefits programs, and compensation administration. This role ensures data integrity, regulatory compliance (with a strong emphasis on California labor laws), and a high-quality employee experience. This position partners closely with HR leadership, payroll, finance, and external vendors to deliver accurate reporting, competitive compensation practices, and compliant, cost-effective benefits programs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: HRIS Administration & Data Analytics • Serve as the primary administrator for the ADP Human Resources Information System (HRIS), • Maintain and audit employee data within ADP for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, • Manage ADP system workflows including onboarding, job changes, compensation updates, and terminations, • Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports from ADP (headcount, turnover, compensation trends, benefits utilization), • Support ADP system configurations, enhancements, and integrations (payroll, benefits, timekeeping), • Partner with ADP support and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot system issues and optimize functionality, • Develop dashboards and reporting tools leveraging ADP data for HR and executive leadership, • Ensure data governance, security, and confidentiality standards within ADP are consistently maintained Benefit Administration • Administer all employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans, • Act as the primary liaison with benefits brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators, • Manage open enrollment process including planning, communications, system setup, and employee support, • Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA/Cal-COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements, • Reconcile benefit invoices and coordinate with payroll for accurate deductions, • Support leave of absence processes (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA/FEHA), • Respond to employee inquiries and provide education on benefit offerings, • Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports from ADP (headcount, turnover, compensation programs including base pay, incentives, and bonuses, • Conduct market benchmarking and salary analysis using compensation surveys, • Maintain salary structures, pay ranges, and job classifications, • Ensure compliance with California Equal Pay Act and FLSA classifications, • Manage compensation changes including merit increases, promotions, and adjustments, • Assist in preparing compensation reports and analytics for leadership, • Support pay equity reviews and internal audits Compliance & HR Operations • Ensure compliance with California wage and hour laws including overtime and meal/rest breaks, • Maintain HR policies related to benefits and compensation, • Support internal and external audits (benefits, payroll, HRIS data), • Assist with regulatory reporting such as EEO-1 and ACA filings, • Partner with HR leadership on process improvements and best practices Employee Support & Experience • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to HRIS, benefits, and compensation, • Provide training to employees and managers on ADP and HR programs, • Support onboarding processes related to benefits enrollment and HRIS access, • Promote a positive employee experience through responsive and accurate HR support QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, • 3–5+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on HRIS, benefits, and compensation, • Experience in a California employment environment strongly preferred Technical Skills • Hands-on experience with ADP HRIS, • Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis), • Experience with HR reporting and analytics Knowledge & Expertise • Strong understanding of benefits administration and compliance, • Knowledge of compensation structures and benchmarking, • Understanding of California labor laws and federal employment regulations, • Familiarity with leave laws
