The Director of Transportation & Logistics provides strategic leadership and oversight into all transportation activities within the organization’s trucking and distribution network. This role is responsible for developing and executing operational strategies that ensure the safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of goods. With a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and sustainability, the Director ensures transportation operations meet both business objectives and California state requirements while driving continuous improvement and excellence across the department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Transportation Strategy & Operations • Leverage experience and knowledge of Lytx and GeoTab systemsto enhance fleet visibility, improve driver performance, optimize routing, and support data-driven decision-making for operational efficiency., • Ensure compliance with DOT qualifications and regulatory standards, including FMCSA, CARB, and EPA requirements, by overseeing audits, driver certifications, hours-of-service, and safety protocols., • Oversee vehicle lifecycle planning, maintenance programs, and sustainability initiatives to maximize asset utilization and ensure regulatory compliance., • Drive process improvements, adopt emerging transportation technologies, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability., • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners to ensure service excellence and continuous improvement., • Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA, EPA, DOT, MFSCA and other relevant state and federal regulations., • Develop and manage transportation budgets, including cost forecasting, fuel usage, maintenance expenses, and vendor contracts, to ensure financial accountability and cost optimization., • Oversee performance reporting and analytics, tracking KPIs such as cost per mile, on-time delivery, fleet utilization, and safety metrics to support executive decision-making and continuous improvement QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business,Logistics, or relatedfield., • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in logistics and warehouse management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role., • Strong knowledge of California-specific transportation, labor, and safetyregulations., • Proven success in managing multi-site logistics or high-volume distribution centers., • Strategic thinking and operational execution, • Leadership and talentdevelopment, • Analytical and data-driven decision-making, • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration, • Master’s degree or MBA., • Bilingual (English/Spanish) REQUIRED, • Experience with sustainability programs and California environmental standards.
