Position Overview: The Division of Communication, Art, and Media offers a robust practical and theoretical education across disciplines including communication, studio art, theatre, visual arts, and experimental media. Located in New York City, the University’s programs emphasize real-world application, professional development, and strong industry connections. The Division of Communication, Art, and Media at the University of Mount Saint Vincent invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach two undergraduate photography courses during the Fall 2025 semester. • ART 205: PHOTOGRAPHY is a studio-based introduction to digital photography, with a focus on learning the foundations of the discipline. Students will master DSLR camera manual functions, learn post-production techniques, and develop a portfolio of conceptually driven photographic work. Emphasis is placed on personal inquiry and fine art creation., • ART 254: PHOTOGRAPHY & SOCIETY is an applied theory course that examines the impact of photography on contemporary society, exploring cultural, ethical, and technological dimensions of the medium. Students engage critically with topics such as visual representation, social media, photojournalism, AI-generated imagery, and the role of photography in shaping identity and public discourse. Coordinator works closely with clients to enhance the recovery experience through creative arts. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide education and awareness of mental health and recovery through art., 2. Organization and supervision of art department therapeutic arts services., 3. Maintain Odyssey House art collection and Haven Art Gallery., 4. Provide cultural education escorting clients on museum trips and events., 5. Develop and maintain relationships with other community arts organizations., 6. Maintain proper client documentation and attendance history., 7. Creates digital and print media promoting art program services., 8. Documents studio activities via photography and written documentation., 9. Monitors art studio inventory, materials and tools., 12. Performs general maintenance and studio repairs., 13. Assists with organization and cleaning projects., 14.
