It provides comprehensive case management services to 169 families who are in a transitional residence program for homeless families. The three story facility has rooms of various sizes, common areas and provides on-site security and social services. Position: Director of Social Services Reports To: Vice President Location: 94-00 Ditmars Blvd Elmhurst NY 11369 What The Director of Social Services Does: • Ensure that newly admitted clients receive social service intake with 48 hours of assignment to case manager., • Monitor and track client intakes and move-outs utilizing DHS rosters to update the Landing master roster daily., • Oversee all ACS cases and ensure that monthly tracking forms are completed and submitted to DHS., • Review and update ACS client rosters., • Meet with community agencies to assist with high risk case conferences as needed., • Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality., • Communicate with peers in other CAMBA programs on issues related to client progress., • Understand all aspects of contract requirements and communicates this understanding to staff., • Supervise a minimum of four direct reporting staff and their subordinates to ensure that clients complete tasks (such as gaining entitlements, employment and housing options)., • Work with staff to set and achieve realistic monthly performance targets in accordance with contract requirements (such as completing ILPs, inspections, monitoring families with children age 0-24 months, ACS, LTS families and housing placements)., • Teach, coach and work with direct staff regarding how to interact with and/or engage clients to maintain entitlements to become eligible for housing subsidies., • Conduct weekly client progress reviews with staff., • Conduct periodic internal chart reviews and implement Quality Assurance measures as needed to ensure quality service delivery to clients., • Respond to critical incidences that require immediate attention., • Access client data using various tracking and program databases (i.e. - Client Tracking System (CTS), New York City Way, 4002 System)., • Prepare contract reports and statistical information for both CAMBA management and funder use., • Assist in the analysis of program and demographic data to make programmatic improvements., • Organize onsite and offsite training opportunities for professional development of staff., • Assist the Vice-President in providing oversight for all aspects of the program in his/her absence., • Confer with the Vice-President, and/or other CAMBA management staff as needed regarding programmatic and personnel issues., • Attend staff/funder/outside agency meetings as requested., • Facilitate weekly meetings with social service staff to address client issues and progress., • Review and sign time sheets., • Prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staff., • May develop appropriate marketing material and marketing/outreach strategies for the program., • May network both within and outside CAMBA to expand client recruitment and opportunities for client success., • May have direct client service/program responsibilities in addition to the above., • Bachelor’s degree w/five (5) years of relevant experience working in shelter settings and DHS experience/ knowledge or, • Two (2) years of supervisory experience., • Good written & verbal communication, and interpersonal skills., • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel., • Strong Computer literacy in other Microsoft Office Suite products., • Ability to balance shifting priorities and keep track of multiple tasks and deadlines. Since 2011, the Brownsville Community Justice Center (BCJC), an operating project of the Center, has worked to address systemic inequality, enhance public safety, and create opportunities for residents to lead in building a safer, more equitable community. The Neighborhood Safety Collective (NSC) builds on BCJC’s decade of community-driven work, serving as a platform for residents, government partners, and community stakeholders to co-design and implement initiatives that improve safety, foster economic opportunity, and reduce reliance on the justice system. BCJC is seeking a Program Manager, Social Work. Reporting to the Project Director, the Program Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the BCJCs' social work team, therapeutic programs, and healing-centered practices. Working in close collaboration with the Community Initiatives team, this position ensures that youth and community participants receive holistic, support that fosters healing, personal growth, stability, and long-term success. The Program Manager provides supervision, coaching, and thought leadership to a team of social workers, advocates, mentors and interns. This role plays a critical part in integrating healing centered insight into program design, supporting interdisciplinary collaboration, and aligning social work practice with the Justice Center’s commitment to equity, healing, and restorative approaches to justice. Job Description THE ORGANIZATION The Center for Justice Innovation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community safety and racial justice. Since 1996, we’ve worked alongside communities, courts, and those most directly affected by the justice system to build stronger, healthier, and more equitable neighborhoods. With a team of over 900 staff and an annual budget of $130 million, the Center carries out its mission through three core strategies: • Operating Programs that pilot new ideas and address local challenges;, • Conducting original research to evaluate what works—and what doesn’t; and THE OPPORTUNITY Brooklyn Justice Initiatives (BJI), the largest operating project of the Center, seeks to re-engineer the experience of criminal court in Brooklyn, New York, by providing judges and attorneys meaningful alternatives to bail, fines, and jail sentences. Operating out of Kings County Criminal Court and community-based offices, BJI is a team of social service providers, court-based resource coordinators, mental health practitioners, compliance specialists, and others who seek to improve the quality of justice. Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail by providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses, and in doing so, uses an arrest as a window of opportunity to change the direction of a participant’s life, avoiding the harmful effects of incarceration. Program participants are monitored to ensure their appearance at court dates and mandatory programming, and receive referrals to services like job training, drug treatment, and mental health counseling. BJI seeks a Case Manager for the borough’s Supervised Release Program (SRP) Brownsville/East New York office. Reporting to Supervising Case Manager, Case Manager is the front line of service delivery and key to ensuring that the program meets its mandate. Specifically, the Case Manager will supervise SRP participants according to their assigned tier and level; work with participants to identify and address barriers to compliance and court attendance; conduct outreach to participants, court stakeholders, community-based service providers, and collateral contacts; connect participants to appropriate services in the community to support their stabilization, and ensure accurate and timely court reporting on participants’ compliance with program requirements. The Justice Center’s Alternatives to Incarceration programming provides judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys with alternative community sentencing options that hold individuals accountable in a way that is meaningful, proportionate, and restorative. Reporting to the Coordinator of Court Operations, the Case Manager will be responsible for coordinating new referrals, conducting intakes and screenings, reengaging former and existing participants to complete mandated services, orienting new participants to the Midtown Community Justice Center, and scheduling participants for services. The Case Manager will also be responsible for providing one-on-one case management support to participants in need of services.
