ABOUT THE POSITION: The Principal Library Assistant, under general direction the Supervising Library Assistant, performs technical and/or paraprofessional duties of considerable difficulty in one or more of the functional areas of librarianship; and does other related duties as required.in order to perform day-to-day paraprofessional work directly related to the acquisition, organization, and distribution of library materials on the Bookmobile, including all aspects of circulation, evaluation and selection for weeding, processing of new books, organization of shelves and re-shelving, and managing holds. The Principal Library Assistant coordinates and collaborates with team and department members, to address the activities of a library unit or section such as circulation desk, periodical section, shelving of library material, microfilm section, book processing section, or interloan section. The Principal Library Assistant will also conduct programs such as story hours, preschool programs, programs and events for school students, children and teens, and programs for senior citizens, convalescents, ethnic groups, and other members of the general community. The Principal Library Assistant also answers patrons' inquiries pertaining to library hours, physical location of library material, offices, or personnel including explanation of basic index systems (for example, card catalog, readers' guide, microfilm, and topical files). The Principal Library Assistant determines and prepares content and arrangement of library material for displays, exhibits, and special library programs. WSFSSH develops, manages, and provides social services in housing for low-income persons, especially those who are older, who have experienced homelessness and who live with mental illness. Job Summary The Assistant Director of Leasing will report to the Director of Leasing and Compliance and will supervise a Leasing Specialist. The Institutional Relations Officer is a crucial frontline fundraising role for the Brennan Center. You will join a high-performing Development team that has raised $50-60 million in the last several fiscal years. Job Description PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE: Supervise the delivery of services provided by Client Care Coordinators (Social Workers) to enhance existing services to homeless families. This includes the completion of a thorough assessment, and the development and completion of a bio-psychosocial for each family upon intake, crisis intervention, counseling, client advocacy, and referrals to government and/or community-based resources. Agency Funders, • Guide client care coordinators in the development, implementation, and achievement of program goals, • Handle administrative, operational, and programmatic issues that might affect client care coordinator staff, • Assign cases to client care coordinators for newly admitted clients to be assessed immediately upon admission and managed throughout shelter stay, • Ensure the timely completion of comprehensive bio psychosocial assessments for each client to understand strengths and service needs, • Work effectively as a part of a multi-disciplinary team to enhance client engagement and the delivery of quality service, • Enhance the delivery and coordination of mental health and related services to clients in shelter, • Ensure that Client Care Coordinator reports are appropriate referrals and linkages between mental health providers, government agencies, and other related community-based services as needed, • Serve as agency/program liaison between DHS, government agencies, community-based organizations and/or groups, • Develop and Implement group work to be facilitated by Client Care Coordinators to address family issues, enhance life skills etc., • Ensure that Client Care Coordinators are completing all documentation in a timely manner, • Ensure that Client Care Coordinators assess each client/family for supportive housing, complete supportive housing applications when applicable, and accompany residents to supportive housing interviews when needed, • Ensure that Client Care Coordinators complete and discuss exit summaries with each client, and Job Description Summary: Safe Horizon’s Anti-Trafficking Program (ATP) is one of the largest providers on the East Coast and one of the only providers in New York State offering comprehensive services to survivors of all types of human trafficking, including labor trafficking. Our program applies a multi-tiered approach to eradicating human trafficking. We provide intensive case management, supportive counseling and legal services to holistically meet the needs of trafficked persons. While recognizing that client services alone will not turn the tide on human trafficking, our Anti-Trafficking Program also offers community education, technical assistance, training and advocacy to foster systemic change. The Training and Outreach Manager is responsible for developing and implementing training programs, in coordination with ATP staff, with the primary goal of assisting grantees of the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Victims of Crime (OVC) Enhanced Collaborative Model to Combat Human Trafficking (ECM), in particular the Brooklyn Human Trafficking Task Force (BKHTTF), to improve community prevention of, and response to, the crimes of human trafficking, both sex and labor. The Training and Outreach Manager will continue to develop our existing training modules, outreach campaign and materials, in collaboration with Kings County District Attorney Office (KCDAO)’s BKHTTF Director.
