Job DescriptionSalary: $120K - $150K SUMMARY The Director of Human Resources leads and oversees our peoples operations across multiple divisions and states. This role is responsible for setting HR strategy, ensuring compliance, and overseeing the execution of Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Training & Development, Payroll, and Benefits through established teams and partners. This is a senior leadership role for someone who understands the realities of the construction industry and is comfortable operating in both union and non-union environments. The director will partner closely with executive leadership and operations to support a growing, safety-focused workforce. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The list below is illustrative and is not a comprehensive list of all duties that may be assigned. • Lead and oversee the Human Resources function across all Rifenburg divisions., • Partner with executive leadership to align workforce strategy with business goals., • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local, union, DOT, and prevailing wage requirements., • Provide oversight of:, • Talent Acquisition & workforce planning., • Training & development programs, onboarding, and career pathways., • Employee relations, performance management, and investigations., • Payroll, benefits, leave administration, and HR operations., • HR systems, reporting, and workforce analytics., • Guide compensation strategy, annual compensation reviews, and pay equity., • Serve as a senior advisor to leadership on employee relations, retention, and organizational development., • Lead, coach, and develop HR leadership and staff, • Maintain strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and regulatory agencies. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development, or related field required., • PHR/SHRM-CP Certification a Plus., • 8-12 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably within construction, utilities, heavy civil, or skilled trades with at least 3-5 years in a senior or director level role preferred., • Prior experience building or restructuring HR functions strongly preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS: • Strong leadership presence with the ability to give Humans Resources a clear, informed voice in executive and operational decision making., • Practical, solutions-oriented approach to HR in a fast-paced construction environment, • High level of judgement, discretion, and decision-making ability., • Excellent communication and relationship building skills., • Comfortable navigating change, growth, and evolving workforce needs., • Proficient in HR systems and data driven decision making.
