The Shipping & Inventory Supervisor is responsible for leading the ecommerce fulfillment and inventory operations to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely delivery of customer orders. This role oversees shipping performance, inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, and asset protection to support a high-performing ecommerce operation that maximizes revenue for Goodwill’s mission. This position leads the shipping and inventory team, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and shipped according to operational standards while meeting key performance indicators for order accuracy, fulfillment speed, shipping costs, and customer satisfaction. The Shipping & Inventory Supervisor plays a critical role in protecting company assets by maintaining strong inventory controls, performing regular inventory audits, and ensuring that donated goods are handled, stored, and shipped with care. The role also ensures shipping processes are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with best practices across ecommerce logistics. Through strong operational leadership and continuous improvement, this position helps ensure the ecommerce department delivers excellent customer experiences while driving profitability and operational efficiency. The Awesome Things You’ll Do Fulfillment Operations • Lead and manage the ecommerce shipping team to ensure all orders are processed accurately and shipped on time., • Ensure fulfillment KPIs are consistently met, including:, • On-time shipment rates, • Order accuracy, • Low damage rates during shipment, • Low return rates related to packaging or fulfillment errors, • Positive customer feedback and reviews, • Oversee daily order fulfillment including picking, packing, labeling, and shipment preparation., • Ensure the use of efficient picking, packing, and shipping workflows that support high order volume and quick turnaround times., • Monitor fulfillment performance and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and maintain service levels., • Ensure packages are prepared using proper materials and packaging standards to protect items during transit. Inventory Management • Maintain strong oversight of ecommerce inventory to ensure accuracy, organization, and asset protection., • Implement and maintain inventory best practices, including:, • Inventory tracking and system accuracy, • Organized storage and shelving standards, • Clear labeling and bin management, • Proper handling of fragile or high-value items, • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies., • Lead inventory cleanup initiatives to remove inactive, lost, or improperly stored inventory., • Ensure inventory systems and physical storage remain aligned and accurate., • Manage inventory life cycle including intake, storage, fulfillment, relisting, and removal of unsellable goods. Operational Excellence • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment, applying 5S principles and operational best practices., • Ensure proper handling and protection of donated goods and company assets throughout the fulfillment process., • Monitor shipping vendor performance and ensure the organization is utilizing the most effective and cost-efficient shipping methods., • Identify opportunities to reduce shipping costs while maintaining service standards., • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures., • Implement technology and digital tools that improve fulfillment efficiency and inventory visibility. Leadership & Development • Supervise, coach, and develop the shipping and inventory team to achieve operational KPIs and productivity goals., • Train team members on fulfillment procedures, packaging standards, inventory management, and system usage., • Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence., • Monitor team performance and provide coaching to improve productivity and accuracy., • Support cross-training to ensure flexibility across shipping and inventory functions. Mission & Asset Stewardship • Ensure donated goods are handled with care and processed in a way that maximizes value for Goodwill’s mission., • Support the ecommerce department in driving revenue and profitability through efficient operations and asset protection., • Act as a strong steward of donated goods, company systems, and operational resources. Activities are subject to change / be added to meet business needs with management approval. Our Must Haves • 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, fulfillment, inventory management, or ecommerce logistics., • Experience supervising or leading a team in a fulfillment or warehouse environment., • Experience with inventory management systems and order fulfillment platforms., • Experience working in high-volume ecommerce, retail logistics, or distribution operations preferred., • Experience in resale, thrift, or secondhand retail operations is a plus. Skills & Competencies • Strong leadership and team management abilities., • Excellent organizational and operational management skills., • Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy., • Knowledge of shipping best practices, packaging standards, and fulfillment workflows., • Ability to analyze operational performance and improve efficiency., • Experience managing shipping vendors and logistics costs., • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment., • Commitment to operational discipline, asset protection, and mission-driven work.
