Job Title: Nurse Educator NPDP - Critical Care Location: Clara Maass Medical Center Department: Develop Innovation & Research Req#: 0000185944 Status: Full-Time Shift: Day Pay Range: $95,000.00 — $140,000.00 Annual Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: Located in Belleville, Clara Maass Medical Center is a facility of RWJBarnabas Health and provides a complete continuum of care to residents of northern New Jersey. With over 700 physicians and 2,100 employees, we offer advanced treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions. Our facility includes centers for advanced wound care, sleep disorders, bariatrics, orthopedics cardiac services, cancer care, emergency services, and more. In 2017, the Medical Center completed a state-of-the-art campus expansion featuring a new four-story 87,000 square foot building with a private, 32-bed Intensive Care Unit, new Main Entrance and Lobby, Retail Pharmacy, Patient Registration Area and newly expanded Emergency Department. Requirements • A Master's Degree in Nursing and/or Nursing Education is preferred; BSN required., • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required., • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Critical Care specialty is required., • Previous experience in Education or Staff Development is required., • An active NJ RN license or compact license with NJ endorsement is required., • Active BLS from the American Heart Association is required., • CCRN or PCCN Certification is required., • Full-Time Day Shift, • The Critical Care Nurse Educator is a Registered Professional Nurse who has expertise in both the Critical Care and ICU Step-Down clinical settings and nursing professional development and education. Experience for this role includes an in-depth understanding and management of a wide scope of critically ill patients i.e. Medical, Surgical, or Neuro ICU., • The Critical Care Nurse Educator must have an in-depth understanding of the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Practice and the Association of Critical Care Nursing Standards., • She/he is a member of the Nursing Leadership team and supports the Organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values, and actively participates in the shared governance process., • She/he is responsible and accountable for the development and application of the Standards of Care and policies and procedures of Clara Maass Medical Center—RWJBH, in an effort to enhance the quality of care provided to patients and families., • The primary function is that of an educator, practitioner, consultant and change agent. Assesses data relevant to the learner’s progress, and interprets the appropriate information necessary to develop group and individual learning plans., • The Critical Care Nurse Educator is a clinical expert with abilities to foster the clinical development of the staff that she/he guides. This individual will be responsible for assessing the educational needs of the staff on an ongoing basis and to serve as a resource/coach for the nursing staff, fellow educators, management, allied professional employees and other healthcare providers., • In addition to the aforementioned skills, the Perioperative Nurse Educator must possess clinical experience, training, and education aligned with their specialty practice area of focus., • The Critical Care Nurse Educator will assist in the onboarding, orientation and clinical practice evaluation of the RNs and professional employees in the Critical Care and Step-Down areas., • The Nurse Educator will participate in the Nurse Residency Program., • Qualified applicants for this role need demonstrated clinical competency in the Critical Care environment consistent with the Association of Critical Care Nursing Standards of Practice., • The Nurse Educator may assist in other departments as clinically requested by nursing leadership.
