Title: Head of Engineering - Full Stack & AI Hybrid – New Jersey (3x/week Oradell NJ offices) About ACMA The Accreditation Council for Medical Affairs (ACMA) is a global leader in Life sciences Accreditation, certification, training and AI-powered professional education for the life sciences. As we scale our proprietary learning platform layered with AI (ACMAi) we are seeking a senior engineering leader to architect, stabilize, and scale our technology infrastructure and support business operations that power our day to day needs for our pharma partners and clients. Role Overview We are seeking a highly technical, product-minded leader to own and evolve our digital learning ecosystem, marketing systems, and AI-powered platforms. This role will serve as the organization’s senior technical authority, overseeing our learning infrastructure, web properties, CRM automation, and external AI solutions. The ideal candidate will architect and build the foundation for a scalable, secure, and AI-integrated ecosystem that supports long-term growth, operational excellence, and innovation. Key Responsibilities • Own and lead full-stack architecture (React / Next js, modern JS frameworks, backend services), • Architect and manage AWS infrastructure (compute, storage, IAM, CI/CD, monitoring), • Own full backend infrastructure (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, RDS Database etc), • Design and oversee development of ACMA’s proprietary learning management platform, • Lead internal authoring tool development (Course creator / course editor), • Establish DevOps best practices and deployment pipelines, • Implement documentation standards and eliminate key-person dependency risk, • Hubspot CRM workflows, integrations, and create new processes to support marketing and sales, • Oversee API integrations (CRM, automation tools, external services), • Ensure platform security, scalability, uptime, and redundancy, • Partner with leadership on long-term technical roadmap and governance, • Manage and mentor AI Engineer and future engineering hires, • Stay up to date with the latest AI technologies and best practices Qualifications • 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience, • Advanced expertise in Next JS, React and modern JavaScript frameworks, • Strong backend development experience (Python, Rust), • Deep experience with AWS architecture and DevOps workflows, • Experience building and scaling SaaS platforms, • Experience designing secure, production-grade systems, • Strong documentation and systems-thinking mindset, • Experience leading or mentoring other engineers preferred, • Understanding of AI technologies (RAG, Context window management, AI Agents) Ideal Candidate • Architect-level thinker, • Process-driven and risk-aware, • Calm under pressure, • Low ego, high ownership and strong team player, • Comfortable challenging assumptions constructively, • Interested in building long-term institutional systems that can scale Equal Employment Opportunity Statement The Accreditation Council for Medical Affairs (ACMA) is an equal opportunity employer.
