Content Production Associate - Editor Morning Walk — Chicago or Milwaukee (HYBRID - Onsite M/W/TH) Morning Walk is a Performance Branding Company that seeks to create healthy brand ecosystems through a balance of purpose, experience, and performance to drive growth. We’ve built a team of insatiably curious thinkers and makers, relentlessly dedicated to craft, unapologetically optimistic, and always moving forward. Our core disciplines include strategic consulting, creative design, content development, experience design, performance marketing, Integrated Comms, CRM and Analytics. Our "Walkers" or employees are the best in the business. We are fortunate to have a portfolio of passionate, purpose-led clients, and are privileged to work on their exciting, dynamic brands across myriad industries and sectors – from Kalahari Resorts & Conventions to innovative doors from Masonite, from car batteries (Clarios/OPTIMA) to snowplows (Toro/BOSS). We are powered by data and ideas and fueled by the energy of our people and clients. Our relentless and persistent optimism means we put our best foot forward, build on our solid foundation, and start each day new with the goal of creating an environment of growth and discovery – both personally and professionally. Motion is contagious, and we’re going places. Won’t you join us? What We’re Seeking Morning Walk is looking for a Content Production Associate to join our creative production team. This is an editor-first role, but not a traditional “cut the footage and move on” editing job. We’re looking for someone who can bring strong post-production craft, visual storytelling instincts, and a curiosity for where content production is going next in the communications industry. They are someone who has strong taste, strong hands-on skills, and the ability to help elevate video ideas from a production and content perspective. They know how to turn raw footage, UGC, interviews, social trends, campaign concepts, and client needs into video work that feels thoughtful, current, effective, and platform-aware. This person will work closely with our creative team, production management, account teams, and other editors to create content across paid social, organic social, digital, broadcast, CTV, brand films, event coverage, case studies, sizzles, motion pieces, and emerging content formats. They will have support from production management and account management; this is not a dedicated project management or client-facing account role. The focus is on making great video and other mixed media content, improving the creative product, and helping Morning Walk continue to evolve how we make content. Job Duties/Responsibilities Include: -Edit and create content across platforms and mediums You’ll create and edit a wide range of content, including short-form social videos, paid media assets, campaign cutdowns, motion-driven videos, brand storytelling pieces, event recaps, case studies, broadcast/CTV spots, internal videos, pitch materials, and content built from existing footage libraries. You’ll understand that a :15 paid social cut, a 9x16 TikTok-style edit, a polished brand film, and a CTV spot all require different instincts - pacing, framing, copy integration, sound, supers, motion, and audience behavior all matter. -Help shape creative from a video-first perspective You won’t be expected to lead entire projects end-to-end, but you will be expected to bring ideas to the table. You’ll work with creative leads, designers, writers, producers, and editors to help determine how a concept should live as video. That may mean recommending a stronger structure, identifying where footage can be used differently, suggesting a motion language, building a faster social version, finding a more engaging hook, or helping translate a campaign idea into a platform-specific content system. -Bring craft to the edit You’ll be responsible for strong editorial storytelling, clean pacing, thoughtful shot selection, music selection, sound design, motion graphics, supers, captions, color consistency, export/versioning, and polish. You should be comfortable taking a project from rough assembly to client-ready deliverable, while also being open to feedback, collaboration, and iteration. -Create for social, digital, paid media, and brand ecosystems Our content often lives across many channels at once. You’ll help create videos that can flex across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, CTV, broadcast, websites, CRM, pitch decks, internal presentations, and other digital environments. You should understand platform specs and best practices, but more importantly, you should understand how people actually watch content — what stops the scroll, what earns attention, what feels authentic, what feels overproduced, and what helps a brand move someone from interest to action. -Explore new tools without making the role “AI-first” We are looking for someone who is curious about new tools and workflows - including generative tools, AI-assisted editing, automated versioning, image/video generation, captioning tools, content testing, and faster ways to build smarter content. This does not mean we are looking for an “AI filmmaker” or someone who replaces craft with prompts. We are looking for a maker who understands that tools change, but taste, storytelling, judgment, and craft still matter most. -Collaborate with the production ecosystem You’ll work with production managers, creative teams, account teams, and other editors to understand creative direction, deadlines, deliverables, feedback, asset needs, and final file requirements. You will not be expected to own client communication or manage every project detail alone. You will be expected to communicate clearly, stay organized, flag issues early, and help make the work better. -Support shoots and content capture when needed Editing is the core of this role, but experience behind a camera is a plus. There may be opportunities to support content capture, event coverage, social-first shoots, behind-the-scenes capture, interview setups, or quick-turn production needs. We are not looking for a one-person production department. But we are interested in candidates who are comfortable thinking like a filmmaker and content creator, not only an editor sitting at a timeline. What We’re Looking For - We’re looking for someone who has: • Strong editing instincts. You know how to build a story, create pace, find the hook, use music well, and make footage feel intentional., • A visual storyteller’s mindset. You think about emotion, clarity, audience, structure, and momentum — not just software., • Platform awareness. You understand the difference between social content, paid media, broadcast, CTV, web, and brand storytelling., • Motion and graphics fluency. You can work with supers, captions, transitions, basic motion graphics, end cards, logo animations, and text-driven social formats., • Technical confidence. You can manage files, organize projects, prep exports, version assets, troubleshoot common post-production issues, and deliver clean final files., • Curiosity about new tools. You are open to using emerging tools to move faster, concept smarter, version more efficiently, or create new kinds of content., • A collaborative attitude. You can take direction, give thoughtful input, work with other creatives, and stay calm through rounds of feedback., • Taste. You know when something feels too slow, too generic, too polished, too messy, too long, too templated, or not quite right., • A desire to grow. You want to keep building your craft and help evolve what video production can look like inside a modern agency. Skills and Experience Ideal candidates will have: • 3–6+ years of professional editing, post-production, freelance, agency, production company, in-house, or content studio experience, • Bachelors in Arts preferred, • A strong portfolio or reel showing editing craft across brand, social, commercial, documentary, lifestyle, event, or campaign content, • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, • Working knowledge of After Effects, • Experience with basic motion graphics, captions, supers, and social-first design systems, • Strong music, pacing, and sound design instincts, • Familiarity with color correction and basic finishing workflows, • Experience exporting and versioning for multiple platforms and aspect ratios, • Knowledge of paid social and organic social content formats, especially Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and 9x16-first environments, • Comfort working with brand guidelines, campaign concepts, scripts, storyboards, footage libraries, and creative briefs, • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, • Experience with camera operation, lighting, audio capture, photography, generative tools, or AI-assisted workflows is a plus You’ll Be a Great Fit If You You might be the right fit if you are the kind of person who watches ads, social videos, brand films, creator content, trailers, title sequences, documentaries, and platform trends and naturally thinks: “I know why that worked,” or “I would have cut that differently.” You love making things. You may have freelance experience. You may have worked in a small production company, an agency, a content studio, or as part of a lean in-house team. You may have worn a few hats, but your center of gravity is still video storytelling. You like collaborating with writers, designers, producers, creative leads, and other editors. You want to bring ideas forward without needing to own the whole room. You’re excited by new tools, but you still believe the best work comes from taste, craft, curiosity, and clear thinking. How to Apply Please submit your resume and a portfolio or reel link that shows your editing, motion, storytelling, and content production work.
