Job Description Hoffman Excavating & Paving, LLC is a New Jersey based, successful company that provides high quality excavating services to our residential and commercial customers in Hunterdon County and surrounding areas. Currently we are looking to hire a full time Heavy Equipment Lead Operator - Foreman. We are seeking a reliable & responsible individual who is willing to take necessary steps to achieve given goals on each work site. We are offering a year round position from Monday - Friday work schedule with available overtime hours. We provide very competitive pay rate with yearly bonuses. Compensation is strictly based on the knowledge & experience of residential / commercial construction site work. Military and Veteran applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Essential Requirements: • MINIMUM 4 years experience in operating heavy equipment, • CDL a plus, • 40 HR OSHA HAZWOPER Certificate or willing to obtain it, • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials & equipment, • Read and follow project blueprints and plans to understand the requirements of each task, • Proficiently operate several types of heavy equipment including but not limited to excavators, dozers, skid steers, loaders, compactors, etc., • Must be able to safely operate equipment around other workers, utilities, equipment, and other obstacles, • Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable in details & procedures related to excavating, installation of septic systems, sewer lines, drainage, etc., • Must have ability to conduct manual labor activities (the ability to hop off the machine and work within the crew performing other tasks), • Fluent in English both verbal & written communication, • Follow safety procedures & policies, • Pre - employment drug testing required Additional Qualifications: • Attention to details, • Ability to work independently in a safe & efficient manner without close supervision, • Solid understanding of safety protocols, • Maintain punctual & regular attendance, • Excellent problem - solving abilities, • Excellent work ethic, • Steady work history is highly desirable Responsibilities: • Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators and loaders on the construction site, • Transport equipment to and from job site, • Load & unload equipment / materials from vehicles and trailers, • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment, • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate given tasks This job is ideal for: • Someone who enjoys working outdoors, • Someone who wants to feel a sense of accomplishment after days of work All medical conditions must be disclose prior to hire.
