Job DescriptionElder Law & Estate Planning Attorney | Melville, NY We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Elder Law & Estate Planning Attorney to join a growing law firm with multiple offices on Long Island. This full-time, in-office position is based in Melville, NY, and offers the opportunity to provide essential legal services to clients navigating the complexities of estate planning, elder law, and Medicaid planning. Key Responsibilities • Provide comprehensive legal counsel on elder law, estate planning, trust administration, and estate administration matters, • Draft, prepare, and review essential legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and advance directives, • Represent clients in probate proceedings and estate administration cases, • Advise individuals and families on asset protection strategies and wealth preservation, • Guide clients through Medicaid planning, eligibility determinations, and application processes, • Interpret federal and state laws, regulations, and rulings related to elder law and estate planning in New York, • Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff while independently managing a diverse caseload, • Stay current on legal developments, legislative changes, and updates to Medicaid rules and estate planning laws, • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and exceptional client service, • Conduct client consultations to assess needs and develop customized estate planning solutionsQualifications & Requirements, • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, • Active member in good standing with the New York State Bar, • Minimum of 3 years of legal experience specializing in elder law, estate planning, and estate administration, • Deep knowledge of New York State elder law, trust and estate law, and Medicaid regulations, • Proven expertise in Medicaid planning, eligibility requirements, and application procedures, • Demonstrated experience in estate administration and probate matters, • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, • Ability to interpret and explain complex legal concepts to clients in an accessible manner, • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, • Join a reputable law firm specializing in elder law, estate planning, and trust administration with multiple established offices across Long Island, • Enjoy an excellent work-life balance with no billable hour requirements—the firm operates on a flat fee billing structure, • Be part of a family-oriented, collaborative firm culture that values attorney well-being and professional growth, • Competitive compensation package with an annual salary ranging from $135,000 to $150,000, plus comprehensive benefits, • Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and families while building lasting client relationships, • Full-time, in-office position providing stability and direct collaboration with colleagues
