Job DescriptionJob Title: Nurse Supervisor (Assistant DON – Labor & Delivery) Department: Labor & Delivery Location: Brooklyn, NY 11206 Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Hours: 37.5 hours per week Job Summary An experienced Nurse Supervisor (Assistant Director of Nursing – Labor & Delivery) is needed to oversee nursing operations and enhance patient care quality within the Labor & Delivery department. This leadership role focuses on staff performance, program development, and ensuring compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with nurse managers to evaluate unit performance, implement improvements, and support high-quality maternal care services. Key Responsibilities • Plan and develop programs to improve maternal and patient care services, • Monitor nursing operations and patient care performance within Labor & Delivery, • Collaborate with nurse managers to assess workflow efficiency and clinical outcomes, • Implement and communicate corrective action plans when necessary, • Develop and maintain systems for:, • Medication error tracking, • Staff counseling documentation, • Clinical and operational record-keeping, • Provide leadership support as Assistant DON for departmental operations, • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and patient safety regulations, • Drive employee performance improvement and quality care initiativesRequired QualificationsEducation, • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited programExperience, • Minimum 7 years of nursing experience, • At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership roleLicensure & Certifications, • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License, • Primary Source Verification through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED), • Basic Life Support (BLS) CertificationPreferred Qualifications, • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN), • Leadership experience in Labor & Delivery or Maternal/Child HealthCore Skills & Competencies, • Expertise in Maternal/Child and Labor & Delivery nursing, • Program planning and clinical operations management, • Patient care quality improvement, • Staff performance evaluation and monitoring, • Effective communication and corrective action implementation, • Medication error tracking and compliance, • Documentation and record-keeping system development, • Strong leadership and supervisory skillsWork Environment, • Hospital-based Labor & Delivery department, • Leadership-focused, fast-paced clinical setting, • Collaborative environment with multidisciplinary teams For more details reach at Aditi.sharma@navitashealth.com or Call / Text at 516-587-6677.
