Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION Under the manager's direction, personal care, self-help, social training, recreation, cleanliness, and related programs are designed to maintain the physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being of residents assigned to the facility; do related work as required. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Assumes the responsibility for the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of residents assigned to his/her care., • Provides whatever assistance is required by residents to ensure adequate healthcare standards, medication administration, personal hygiene, proper nutrition, overall care, community involvement, participation in preferred activities, etc., • Cares directly for residents as assigned. If an employee is assigned to a specific resident who requires 1:1 supervision, the employee ensures the safety and well-being of that resident while keeping that resident within line of sight and at arm's length at all times. If the staff member needs to leave the resident's side, the staff member will seek out another staff to stay with the resident until the staff member returns. The resident assigned 1:1 supervision will always have staff supervision within line of sight and at arm's length during the hours required. REQUIREMENTS • High school diploma, GED or equivalency and, • Minimum age requirement of 18 years., • Possess a driver's license valid in the State of New Jersey for employee mobility as necessary to perform the position's essential duties. Job Description Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician (MAVT)/ Motor Assistance Vehicle Operator (MAVO) SUMMARY: The Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician/Operator (MAVT/MAVO) is responsible for all aspects of patients’ care within the scope of certification. Essential Job Functions The Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician/Operator (MAVT/MAVO) is an integral part of the Virgo transportation team. In this position the MAVT/MAVO transports ambulatory patients to and from residences and or skilled nursing facilities to medical treatments and or appointments, and then return them. Some of the patients are able to ambulate to our vehicles while other must be moved in their wheelchairs, or are able to move on their electric scooters. No person is to ride the lift while standing, or on the electric scooter. The patients are placed in a wheelchair to go up on the lift, and they are moved inside and secured to the vehicle either on the bench seat or in the wheelchair. Should there be an aide or family member accompanying the patient, they must be secured in the vehicle as well. The MAVT/MAVO must check to see if any belongings or paperwork must accompany the patient for the transport, and then ensure that it gets dropped off with the patient. For each trip the appropriate documentation must be filled out, and where required, obtain the necessary signatures from the patient and /or facility. In the event monies are to be collected at time of service, a receipt is to be filled out and a copy given to the patient, or the person accompanying the patient. The MAVT/MAVO must be capable of good oral communications as for every leg of the trip dispatch must be communicated with, as to alert them to the status of the transport. In addition should any incident occur dispatch must be notified in a timely manner. The vehicle being used for any particular shift must be checked both prior and post usage for mechanical operations, fluids, and general cleanliness. The MAVT/MAVO must be able to utilize maps in order to locate facilities or residences that they are not aware of, with the assistance of dispatch. At the conclusion of the MAVT’s/MAVO's shift they must turn in the appropriate paperwork, and monies collected. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and interpret using basic English language and grammatical usage. Ability to understand and follow simple directions as related to job description. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, lift and/or move, balance, stoop, talk , hear with and without background noise, use all fine motor skills.
